ALORA
Dreams.
I always have dreams. They are my companions. They are always within me.
At first, they were shorts. However, this recent dream that I saw- that I watched felt so long. Like a never ending delusion. As if it's never going to end. And I felt like this will not let me come back to reality and for the rest of my life, I have to spend the whole time in my dreams.
But here I am. Feeling like I am reborn again. Because I am not able to find out what is happening with me and what has happened to my body.
The first thing I remembered seeing when I opened my eyes was an unknown person. Then after a second, I realised that it was perhaps a doctor. And I am laying on bed and it feels like I have been like this forever. Though my body doesn't hurt, rather it feels numb.
The doctor came in front of me. He did something with my arms. On the other side, a lady, which I assume is the nurse, checked the monitors.
Suddenly, I felt something like fluid going inside my body. Maybe they released something inside my body. I don't know. I can't tell clearly because I still feel numb. And this numbness is not going to leave my body soon, I guess.
Also, the tubes that are around all over my body whether in my arms or legs or stomach and so on. They feel like thousands of thick pipes grabbing me like snakes.
It's only then when I realised some more things. First thing is that I am in a hospital. And the second thing is that I have been through a specific thing or time which apparently makes me confused.
"Miss Gray. How are you feeling?" I shifted my eyes which are blurred because of sleeping for too long.
And even though I am having this urge to rub them, I can't. My hands are defeated. Not being able to move or even rub my eyes.
The doctor watched me, waiting for a response. So I blinked twice. He gave a curt nod and turned to face the nurse who was focused on scribbling on her pad.
I am still confused about my surroundings. Why am I in a hospital? With different pipes- okay, it's actually called tubes...they are running around me. It seems that my body is also going through a confused phase as if it is also unknown by the way of my presence of mind.
"Can you tell me your full name?"
I gulped, my lips felt dry as I tried to speak, "Alora Gray, it is." The doctor hummed and for a second, I thought that I won some prize for telling my name correctly.
It made me happy.
"Confused."
The doctor raised an eyebrow, "Well, it's totally alright. Your brain just needs some time to realise things."
I saw the nurse scribbling down something again after my response.
"Are you feeling anything else besides confusion?"
I slowly shook my head. He said okay and whispered something to the nurse.
"Do you know what day it is today?"
"No idea."
Then just like that he kept asking questions, random questions to me. It took me some time to answer them but they were very patient and waited till I responded. Slowly but finally, some memories came back to me. To my head. To my heart.
They only whispered one name. Enzo Ferrante. His thoughts crossed my heart and my heart instantly claimed that that name belongs to her forever.
"Miss Gray, do you remember anything?"
