ENZO
"Enzo!"
With a pounding heart, I turned to the weakened voice. My heart almost stopped beating when I saw her coming to me in a hurry.
However, that wasn't the actual reason for the way it was reacting. It was when I caught a glimpse of tears in her eyes. One would think that I am overreacting and it's no big deal for seeing someone having tears. It is a big deal. Because this is not someone else I was seeing having tears in eyes but my Alora.
Seeing her cry is the last thing I will want to witness. There's no way I will let anyone go if they ever make her cry like this. And there's no way I will spare myself either if I ever become the reason for her tears.
The point is I won't let the world hurt her anymore.
I narrowed my eyes. She increased her speed and almost stumbled on the stairs but did that stop her? Of course not.
At the moment I realised that she was rushing to reach out to me. As if something is wrong, something has disturbed her.
By the time she reached me, stood right in front of me, tears rolling down her cheeks. I couldn't stop myself from wiping them off of her soft skin. Alora's eyes closed for a brief moment as she leaned on my touch.
"Is everything-" I didn't even get to finish the sentence when she pushed her whole body on me, attacking in a hug.
Now I am even more concerned about what might have happened.
Instead of pushing her away and throwing a bunch of questions to her, I decided to let her sink into the hug. My arms wrapped around her soft body as she embraced herself in my warmth. It felt so beautiful.
"It's okay." I shushed her with a gentle tone. "Shhh...you are okay. I am here." She released a shaky breath and I continued to soothe her back.
Seconds passed. She remained in my arms, unbothered.
Then suddenly she backed off from the hug as if she can't afford to waste any time for now.
"Are you alright?"
"I need you to t-take me somewhere." She gulped down. Eyes still filled with tears.
"Yes. Okay. Where-"
She didn't even let me complete and stuttered. "I need to go... to the hospital."
That increased my concerns even more. I held her both arms as I looked through her face. "Alora, are you not feeling well?"
The mention of the hospital- that place scares me though there's no history behind the fear of that. It's something that naturally comes from me whenever I hear the name of a hospital and at this moment when Alora is requesting to go there is making me afraid even more than needed.
"It's about m-my cousin. My sister, Betty." She weeped and I blinked.
The drive to the hospital has been spending in complete silence, yet filled with tense silence. I turned my head to look at the girl beside me, her face looking outside the window.
Not being able to find out about what has happened to her cousin, William's daughter, Betty, I pushed the thought of Alora being in any kind of trouble to back off my head.
I don't think she is involved in any sort of matters with her uncle, William, anymore.
After her request to go to meet her cousin's sister in a hospital, it doesn't take a genius much time to find out that something might have happened to her. While being in the thought of finding that out- by Feleti- I decided to focus on my girl's condition first.
