˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ "Wait, I forgot my bag at home," Kat said  from the backseat of Jonathan's car. Their plan was to break up the drive, stay the night at a motel. Can't stay the night if you don't have your overnight bag.

Jonathan gave a small smile. "You're lucky we're still in town."

He dropped her off at home, but Kat never expected to walk into what she did that day.

Instantly, she was hit with a strong smell of bleach, and as she followed the scent, she ended in Dustin's room, to where he was scrubbing the carpet with yellow gloves on.

Kat didn't expect that anything was wrong, but she'd learn that she was very much mistaken.

"Dustin, what did you do?" she asked him, standing in the doorway of the boy's bedroom. It was like she answered her question herself, when her eyes traveled to the stained wall and broken glass covering the carpet. Her face scrunched. "Is that—"

Dustin continued to scrub. "—Blood, yes."

"What—I don't...I'm so...What did you do?!"

He stood up with a loud sigh, throwing the bleach covered towel into a pile with other bloodstained towels. "More like what did Dart do. He ate...yeah, he ate the cat. He's also a baby Demogorgan."

"Mews?!"

"What other cats do you know?!"

Kat paused for a moment, so many thoughts in her mind. "You stay right there while I tell Nancy and Jonathan to go without me, and you better not move a muscle until I get back because you best believe I will be babysitting you until we catch your little pet and kill it!" She stormed off back towards the front door and back outside.

Kat motioned for Jonathan to roll down his window. She leaned down, bending her knees to reach the height of the window. "So...Dustin actually got super sick and I really don't think I can leave him home alone."
