˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Steve stepped away from the window and walked towards the door, hesitating a second before he opened it.

"Steve? Steve, what are you doing?" Kat asked, but he had already shut the door behind him.

The person—Max's brother— stepped out of the car and lit a cigarette. Wait a minute, is that... "Your brother is Billy Hargrove?" Kat asked Max incredulously, her mouth slightly agape.

"Stepbrother," Max answered through her teeth.

"He spiked the punch bowl at the Halloween party," Kat added, although not meaning anything now.

"Yeah, I'm not surprised."

Steve and Billy walked closer to each other, having a tense conversation. The kids were looking out of the window above the couch while Kat was standing behind them watching Steve and Billy.

Kat pulled the kids down out of sight when Billy snapped his neck towards the window.

"Shit! Do you think he saw us?" Dustin panted, pressing himself into the couch.

Kat stayed looking, only hoping that Billy wouldn't come inside. "Yes, definitely."

Steve turned his head back towards Billy, but he immediately shoved him straight to the ground with one push, muttering something before kicking him in the stomach.

"Shi...Shoot, guys, get away from the door," Kat urged the kids as Billy sped walked to the front door. She stood in front of them, but Billy looked straight past her at Lucas.

"Well, well, well," Billy said, slamming the door shut and walking towards Lucas. "Lucas Sinclair. What a surprise." He snapped his neck towards Max. "I thought I told you to stay away from him, Max."
