˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ "Dustin, get this thing off," Kat groaned from under the box.

It felt like an eternity of laying on top of Steve until Dustin finally pulled the box off of the two.

"Is everyone okay?" Robin asked, holding her head with her hand.

Kat immediately stood up, staying pressed up against the wall with an embarrassed look on her face. She looked over at Steve, who was jumping to his feet and yelling.

"Yeah, I'm great, now that I know that Russians can't design elevators!" Steve went back to frantically pressing each button on the control panel.

Kat rolled her eyes. "I think we've learned that those buttons don't work."

"They're buttons, they have to do something!" Steve shouted, veins popping out of his neck.

"If we had a keycard!" Kat responded, matching his volume. "It's an electronic lock. Just like the loading dock door. We don't have a keycard, so the buttons don't work. See, there's a red light right there," she said, pointing to the red light next to the control panel. "That means it won't operate, so then—"

"—We're stuck in here," Dustin finished for her.

"Correct."

"Just so you nerds are aware," Erica butted in with her usual sass. "I'm supposed to be spending the night at Tina's, and Tina always covers for me. But if I'm not home for Uncle Jack's party tomorrow and my mom finds out you four are responsible, she's gonna hunt you down, one by one, and slit your throat!"

Kat was about to interject and reassure everyone they'd be out by sundown, but Steve beat her to it, still shouting. "I don't care about Tina! Or Uncle Jack's party! Your mom's not gonna be able to find us if we're dead in a Russian elevator!"
