˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Never once had Kat thought she'd be in the backseat of a car, sitting next to an unconscious man while being driven by a thirteen-year-old, but these days, anything can happen.

Max was driving Billy's car, after Kat volunteered to stay in the back with Steve, since she knew more about health than the other thirteen-year-olds in the car with her.

Mike was sitting next to her, a can of gasoline in his lap, Lucas was in the passenger seat, giving Max directions, and Dustin was sitting on the other side of Steve, holding an ice pack to his head.

Kat knew what to do. Most likely Steve had a concussion, since he's been passed out this long, so when he wakes up, she needs to check for differently sized pupils, confusion, and balance problems. Simple.

"How do you know this stuff?" Mike asked as Kat was rechecking her mental checklist again.

"I interned at the hospital last year," Kat answered simply. "I've done this many times."

Before anyone could say something else, there were quiet groans coming from Steve just a few minutes later. He slowly turned his head towards Kat. "Nancy?" he asked, sounding drunk.

Kat shook her head. "No, not Nancy." Confusion, check. She waved her hand in front of his face, getting his attention. "Hey, hey, do you know what day it is?"

He hesitated for a moment, Kat tried to use that time to look at his pupils but it was way too dark. "Dustin, flashlight," she said, holding her hand out. He handed it to her and Kat flicked it on. "Steve, look right here for me, please." One pupil was much larger than the other. Messed up pupils, check.

"Mmm, N...Novem—Ah, shit. Bright!"

She turned the light off, giving it back to Dustin. "Okay, do you know where we are, right now?" Kat asked. Steve must've just then realized everything that was happening, because he started to shout while trying to sit up.
