˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Kat held her breath as she crouched behind a cabinet, ducking out of sight.Steve poked his head out, whispering, "Clear," and leading the four others down the hallway.
"Okay," Kat sighed, "that was close."
Steve rolled his eyes. "Relax, alright? Nobody saw..."
He trailed off as he turned the corner to a two leveled headquarters, swarming with Russians. Some had white lab coats carrying clipboards, some were wearing a soldiers uniform, holding big guns, and others were wearing hazmat suits, holding the helmets under their arms.
Kat asked herself what they could've needed the hazmats for as Robin pulled her down, behind another cabinet.
"Red Dawn," Dustin referenced with wide eyes.
"I saw it," Erica said. "First floor, northwest."
"Saw what?" Kat whispered.
"The comms room!"
"You saw the comms room?" Dustin asked incredulously. "Are you sure?"
"Positive," she confirmed. "The door was open for a second, and I saw a bunch of lights and machines and shit in there."
"That could be a hundred different things," Kat said, unwilling to take the risk.
Robin lowered her voice. "I'll take those odds."
Both Robin and Steve nod to each other, then Steve led them across the hall, everyone staying low to the ground and then hiding behind a barrel.
A scientist walked out of a room and right by them. Steve saw this as an opportunity. He grabbed the door before it closed, filing everyone inside.
