˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Once the sun set, the plan was a go.

Erica went to the Turnbow's front door, armed with a benzo-spiked pie to serve the family. Everyone else waited in either Steve's new and improved Beamer, or the WSQK van.

Kat sat in the passenger seat of the BMW, trying to slouch down and out of sight when the front door opened. Still, she kept her head up far enough so she could see what was going on. But when this supposed villian of a thirteen-year-old hugged Erica and invited her inside, Kat was a little confused.

As the door shut behind the two, Steve passed it on through the walkie, updating Mrs. Byers, Will, Mike, Lucas, and Robin in the WSQK van.

Dustin must've been surprised by the girls' interaction as well, since he grabbed the walkie from Steve and said, "Sinclair, come in, do you copy? I'm a little stumped. I thought your sister said that Tina was mean," he said, a confused inflection in his voice.

"Oh, no, no, she's not mean," Lucas replied. "She's a villain. Like, kill the puppies for a fur coat kind of villain. Trust me."

Dustin shrugged, handing the walkie back to Steve with a small head shake.

"Maybe he's right," Kat said, sitting up in her seat now that the front door was shut. She leaned her head against the headrest, letting her head roll to the side so she was looking at Steve. "Teenage girls can be ruthless. Especially middle school girls."

She turned to Dustin in the back seat. "You have experience with that, right? You get it."

Dustin just stared at Kat, his mouth in a perfectly straight, unimpressed line. "Thank you for reminding me," he finally said, prompting Kat to return a smile and turn back facing forward.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ When Erica walked out onto the front porch, that was the signal that the first part of the plan was finished.
