˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ They had no choice but to start preparing for the crawl, whether Dustin showed or not, so everybody started to do their part.

Mike, Will, and Lucas loaded Hopper's guns, Nancy and Kat activated the new telemetry tracker,  and Robin and Steve established a connection between the tracker and the WSQK van.

Well, they tried to establish a connection.

Robin radioed Steve, asking if he was getting any signal, but Steve radioed back with, "Hey, anybody know how Henderson's wheelie thing works?"

Robin looked up to everybody else. "Any ideas?"

"There's a safety lock," Will said. "Look for a switch under the wheel."

Robin repeated that into the radio, and after a moment Steve said, "Signal's holding a pretty steady 90 dB. But how exactly am I supposed to monitor this and drive without Henderson?"

"Hear anything from Inspector Gadget?" Hopper asked the kids, but mostly directing the question at Kat.

Kat shook her head. "Nothing."

"I can do it," Will offered with a small glint of hope on his face. "I can monitor."

Mrs. Byers quickly shut that down. "No, you're staying here," she said.

"Mom, I helped Dustin set up the antenna," Will insisted. "I know how to work it."

"Out of the question," she also insisted. "It's just a wheel."

Will looked to the ground. "It's not just a wheel," he said.

Mrs. Byers turned to Kat. "You can work it, right? The wheel?" she asked.

Kat looked between Will and Mrs. Byers, hesitating for a moment before affirming that she could work it.

When Hopper and Mrs. Byers turned to leave, Kat followed, stopping for a moment to turn to Will. "Sorry," she mouthed before going back up the stairs.
