The Accident

Giovanni and Eva were about to leave the house but Eva decided to quickly tell Yu Shao so the woman won't be worried. Reaching the kitchen, she said "I'm going out to get something. I'll be back soon". Yu Shao was about to reprimand Eva but before a word could leave her mouth, the girl had walked away. Yu Shao sighed, she knew Eva did it on purpose. If she had stayed any longer to hear what Yu Shao had to say, the woman would have told her not to go out. That's why she quickly left before Yu Shao could say anything.

"Do go safe sweetheart" the woman said turning back to the dish she was making. Eva asked Giovanni to drive her to a mall not too far from the house. She wanted to get gifts for Giovanni, Hwang Lu, Yu Shao and definitely her husband. She just wanted to show them that she was grateful to them for their kindness towards her. Arriving at the mall, she asked Giovanni to stay in the car while she went in.

Eva walked into the mall to be welcomed by a floral scent. She turned towards the direction of the scent and saw the diffuser. She asked the security personnel who was seated close to the diffuser what type of scent was placed in the diffuser. "It's lavender ma'am. It's intriguing that you smelt it so quickly. Some people don't even realize it quickly" the middle aged man said. Eva smiled at him "Thank you. It's really nice". "Of course ma'am" the man smiled back. To be frank, the scent wasn't so harsh or intense that it could be smelt immediately. It's was calm, delicate and sweet but Eva's hormones were going haywire and it enhanced her ability to pick scents that's why she smelt it so quickly.  She had no time to waste so she made haste to get the things she wanted. She wasn't poor anymore. Infact, her account balance had a lot more zeros than some celebrities in City F, so she wasn't scared about the price of the things she was planning to get. But that didn't mean she was going to spend extravagantly. In the process of buying the gifts, she saw where the lavender diffuser was sold and without hesitation, she bought it.

She arrived at the parking lot few minutes later and placed the things in the car trunk. She was feeling better now because of the soup she drink earlier. It reduced the way she felt nauseated. She was about to enter the car after placing the items in the car trunk but her nose caught another scent. The scent of freshly made hot dogs. Her stomach grumbled intensely. She placed her hand on her belly feeling the vibrations. She didn't want to waste anymore time but the sweet scent was pulling her in. "I'll be back" She said to Giovanni. "Mrs Ming where are you going?" The guy asked as he jolted out of the car in nervousness. He didn't want anything to happen to her, being that he thought she was sick. "I want to get hot dogs. It's just across the road, relax Vanni" she said while giving him a reassuring smile. Giovanni didn't know what to say anymore. After all the hotdog cart was just across the road and he was watching her so if any problem seems to arise, he would step in.  He watched as Eva crossed the road to purchase the freshly made hotdogs. Few persons and children surrounded the cart so it was going to take some time before it gets to her turn.

After few minutes of waiting, she had gotten what she wanted. Giovanni had his eyes on Eva as she prepared to cross the road. The traffic light switched to red, indicating that all vehicles should stop moving and the pedestrian light switched to green indicating it was time for the people to cross. Along with others, Eva was crossing the road when suddenly, a biker on full speed came out of nowhere almost hitting her. Luckily for her, it was just a few inches that saved her from colliding with the biker. But still, the speed at which the biker drove past her made her loose her balance and she fell to the floor. The tarred road grazed her pearl-like skin and her hotdogs fell to the ground. She had bought two earlier, for herself and Giovanni. But now, they were on the ground. The other pedestrians gathered around Eva to see if she was okay. Giovanni who saw what happened earlier was already making his way through the number of persons that surrounded her. With the help of a young man, Eva stood up on her feet. "Are you okay Mrs Ming?" Giovanni asked finally getting to the spot she was. "Yes, I'm fine. Just little scratches" Eva answered. "Thank you" she said to the young man that helped her up and the man gently smiled at her.

She glanced at her delectable hotdogs and she almost teared up. She really wanted to have a taste of it but that reckless biker who was now long gone ruined it for her. Giovanni respectfully glanced at Eva from head to toe to see if she had any serious injuries but there was none. Only scratches on her wrist and her knees.
