"Who was that?" Eva asked fearfully as she hugged her husband from behind. "I'll tell you inside" Lee Ming said as he turned around and held Eva's hand, walking back to their bedroom.
"A vampire who seeked revenge" Lee Ming answered as they both sat on the bed. "I thought Vampire's are from hell? I once read a book that stated vampires are from hell." Eva asked confused making Lee Ming chuckle. "Who told you that pet? They are not from hell but that's where this vampire is going to end up, I just made it quicker" he uttered and Eva was silent for a while and he noticed his wife still shaking from fear. He hugged her and said "Our baby won't die and this will never repeat itself so don't worry pet". He tried to coax her.

Luckily for the couple, they had escaped a bad reoccurrence of their past lives. Unbeknownst to them, little by little their life was following the same pattern it did in the past and they had just a little chance to change the bad reoccurrences of the past in this present life.

About two hundred years ago in the kingdom of Azerath, Duke Li Ming was in his home with his wife Iva. It was almost midnight and Duke Ming and his wife were seated in their little garden, enjoying the view of the northern lights when arrows began flying in air. It took them both by surprise but the Duke knew many from the neighbouring Kingdoms were after his life for he was a great warrior who fought and had won many battles for his kingdom so because of this many were after his life, waiting for the perfect opportunity to assassinate him. The Duke's home was deep in the forest of Azerath and on one dared walking into the forest just like that. If any wanted to visit the Duke, they usually guard themselves as they ventured. So it took him by surprise that assassins actually ventured in and are shooting arrows at him.
It was dark and the only thing that supplied light was the moonlight and the northern lights which was slowly going away. The trees that stood tall as a natural protection from invaders were swaying because of the night wind. The Duke hurriedly told his wife to hide but she retorted saying she wanted to fight by his side. The Duke couldn't dwell much on his wife's decision because the arrows kept coming. They both ran inside their house and drew out weapons. The Duke had a collection of swords and his wife on the other hand, literally took up anything her hand could touch to defend herself. The couple returned to their garden and noticed the arrows had stopped. They looked around waiting to see the assassins but they didn't see any. Their adversary had blended with the darkness of the night making it hard for the Duke and his wife to pick them out from the shadows.
As they looked around in stillness and the quietness of the night, a whistling sound from an arrow was heard and the sound suddenly stopped when it reached it's target. The next sound that was heard was the Duke's wife groaning in pain. Duke Li Ming turned to his wife and saw her holding her stomach. The arrow that was shot was intentionally for her and it landed right in her stomach.

Duke Ming quickly dropped his sword and grabbed his wife who was about to fall. Iva's hand was on her stomach after she felt the arrow pierce her flesh. She removed her hand from her abdomen to find her hand covered in blood. Duke Ming frantically but carefully pulled the arrow out from his wife's stomach and she screamed in pain.
"You're going to be fine. Don't worry" The Duke said to his wife as he placed her in a corner and tore a large piece of his cloth and wrapped it around her bleeding stomach to ease the bleeding. After he did that, he stood up and shouted "If you are really skilled and bold, come out. Show your face!". Silence was the next thing that followed after his statement and after some seconds of silence, an arrow came flying and it landed deep in his shoulder. Seeing the arrow protruding from his flesh, Duke Ming angrily pulled the arrow from his shoulder. He knew he could take even a hundred arrows because of the kind of creature he was but not his wife. So he was going to protect her and eliminate whoever or whatever had dared to attack him in his home.
