It was like the whole world was on pause when Eva entered the conference room. She saw Lee Ming standing at the very far end with his father at his left hand side and Tae Ming at his right. Lee Ming was dressed in a nice and elegant suit and his hair was glistening - showing you how healthy the hair was. He was the first person Eva's eyes caught when she entered the conference room.

"What the f*ck is going on here?!" The little demoness voice in her head said and Eva did her best to try and control herself.

Sir Ming had already caught sight of Eva and he said "Let's all take our seats". Somehow, Eva's legs managed to move to where her chair was and she sat down. Eva used her long hair to cover most of her face so Lee Ming wouldn't notice her.

Sir Ming cleared his throat and said "I called for this meeting today because there is a change of power. As you all know, my daughter here is the ceo of ESCORP. But the position of the ceo is now handed to my son, Lee Ming. Welcome ESCORP's new ceo. Lee Ming." After he said that, everyone including Eva stood up on their feet and clapped. Eva was at loss for words. Though there were two emotions in her heart at that moment. Both happiness and anger. She was low-key happy that he was right there looking so handsome but angry because of what he had done to her. She felt like he betrayed her. She never expected that one day, she would feel betrayed by him.

Initially, she always wanted to leave his house. But after that night that she slept off in his arms and woke up in his room, she felt she got more attached to him and she thought he felt the same. But he surprised her by telling her to leave his house later on.
As Eva stared at Lee Ming, she felt her heart pounding in her chest. If she was to follow her heart, she would run over to him and hug him but at the same time, scold him for telling her to go. But she decided to follow her head and stay put to avoid the uproar of rumors in the company. Besides that, he didn't want her so she won't bother expressing what is in her heart.

She sighed as she turned her eyes away from him. As the board of directors were congratulating Lee Ming, one of them asked Sir Ming "Chairman Ming, why the sudden change of position?". Sir Ming smiled to the brown haired man who just asked him a question and said "It's a personal reason" and the man only nodded slightly. At the time that short conversation was going on, Lee Ming came out of the conference room to make a call. "Hwang Lu, how's everything going?" and the young man on the other end replied "Sir, she left the house about an hour ago" and Lee Ming sighed and said "Do you know where she went to?" and Hwang Lu replied "I'm sorry sir. I have no idea". After Lee Ming heard that, he ended the call and ran his hands through his hair before saying to himself "Where is that little ladybug?".

Outside the company (ESCORP)~

Hwang Lu was in a black Porsche parked outside the company at the other side of the road. He looked at his phone that he just used to have a conversation with Lee Ming and said "It will be so funny when he finds out that she's working in the same company he now runs".

At noon yesterday, Hwang Lu received a call from Sir Ming who was the Chairman of ESCORP. Sir Ming had told him his plans to make Lee Ming the CEO of the company and also employ Eva as part of the board of directors. So he perfectly knew what was going on in the company at that time.

Still at noon yesterday, Hwang Lu received a call from Lee Ming. "Hello?" Hwang Lu said and Lee Ming replied "Please keep an eye on Eva. Don't let anything bad happen to her". "Oh okay" Hwang Lu replied and ended the call. He sighed and then laughed at Lee Ming's predicament. "You care about her but still drove her away? Lee Ming, you can be very unpredictable at times" Hwang Lu said.

Back to present

Lee Ming got back into the conference room with Eva still on his mind. But he was soon crowded by both reporters and also the board of directors who wanted to congratulate him. Eva was quite shocked that reporters were actually there. Anyways, ESCORP was a big company and the news of the position of the CEO being changed will surely be announced on the News and posted on the internet. As people swarmed in and out of the conference room, Eva saw it as an opportunity to quickly leave and she did so without any one noticing. She took an elevator and went straight back to her office.
