Who actually cares

The couple ate their meal quietly but occasionally, Eva would giggle out of happiness because she was thinking about the hotdog she planned to devour after dinner. Lee Ming often stole glances at his wife who had a smile all over face. Her happiness and giddy mood was contagious and soon Lee Ming found himself smiling also. She was his cute ladybug that needed to be taken care of with utmost care and gentle hands so she won't be crushed. His mind immediately drifted to the fact that in their past life, they were married. He rested his head on his knuckles and quietly watched her, he wondered how their marriage was at that time and how everything ended. He barely remembers anything from his past life and he wondered if he was a good husband to her. If he wasn't good to her then, he'd do everything possible to be good to her in this lifetime.

Eva noticed she had stopped hearing the sounds that came from his plate indicating that he was eating. Concerned, she looked up at him and her eyes met his gaze that was full of depth. He stared at her like she was life itself, he stared at her like she was a rare gem that he only wanted for himself.
"Is there a problem?" She asked innocently staring at him while blinking her beautiful blue eyes.
Instead of replying immediately, Lee Ming stretched his hand and patted the top of her head. "You..." He uttered in a low hoarse tone.
"I want to keep you" he uttered with his hand still on her head.

"I want to keep you? What a weird way of expressing himself". Eva heard in the demoness voice in her head say.
"You already have me" Eva said after being quiet for a while.
Lee Ming only smiled at her response, he didn't want to tell her how he felt he might mess things up because of his limited understanding of what love is. She had confessed to him more than once about how much she loved him but he had never done the same once. He was still processing what love is and if truly he loved her but one thing he was sure of was that he didn't want her to leave. He was already hooked. Hooked on everything about her - her smile, her scent, her personality, her body, everything!. He couldn't even imagine her not being with him anymore, his life would plummet. Going back to being boring and going back to when nothing in life interested him after he lost his mother. The darkness, the cold and icy feeling would return in his heart if Eva leaves. To add to it, she was going to birth his child.

Not until he heard it with his own two ears, he had never imagined what it would be like to be a father, before he met Eva Sir Ming often talked about how much he wanted to be a grandfather and was always excited about it but Lee Ming never knew how the feeling was. But now Eva was pregnant, he was happy and curious to be a father and he was not willing to lose this woman. This woman that would birth his child.

Unbeknownst to him, he was already head over heels in love with her. They need not be any complicated definition of love. But this, Lee Ming didn't know.

"Aren't you going to eat anymore?" Eva asked breaking the silence.
"I'm full wifey. I just want us to have some time alone" Lee admitted.
"Okay. Let me finish up". Eva quickly ate so they could spend some time alone.
She smiled inwardly as she knew he had turned to a man who actually cared.
