The Accident -2

Eva and Giovanni walked back and got inside the car as the pedestrians dispersed. Eva had a sad look on her face while Giovanni on the other hand, was forcefully texting someone. Eva was curious to know who he was texting like that with fright covered all over his face.

It was past noon and Hwang Lu was sitting lazily inside Lee Ming's office. Lee Ming had a lot of paper work to do to cover up for the times that he wasn't at work but luckily, he was almost done. Hwang Lu was watching something on his phone when he received a text from the frightened Giovanni. "Mrs Ming had an accident!! Well, not really but she was almost hit by a motorcycle. She has little injuries though. I'm not bold enough to tell Mr Ming myself, besides you both are close. So please relay the message to him on my behalf! I owe you" The text ended with a crying emoji at the end. "This guy... pushing me to the forefront" Hwang Lu said inwardly. He was eager to know all the details but what was more important was telling Lee. He hesitantly stood up from the comfy chair in office and walked close to Lee's table.
"There's something you need to know". Lee Ming looked up at Hwang Lu who looked slightly nervous. Hwang Lu knew perfectly well that Eva wasn't just a person to Lee Ming anymore. Even though the Lee Ming hasn't admitted it yet, he knew that Lee was crazy for Eva. So telling him that she was involved in an accident made him a bit scared of what the man's reaction might be.
"What's that?" Lee Ming asked crossing his hands.
"It's about your wife. She was almost hit by a motorcycle. I don't know where the accident occured but Giovanni said she sustained some minor injuries" Hwang Lu reported.
Silence reigned for some seconds and then Lee Ming asked "Where is she now?".
"I think she should be home" Hwang Lu answered.
Hwang Lu's words jolted Lee Ming out of his chair and made him grab his car keys as he exited the office. Hwang Lu was stunned for some seconds before quickly following Lee Ming. They both took the elevator down and Lee Ming took huge strides towards the parking lot. Lee Ming's subordinates wondered what made their boss look so tensed but as they walked passed them, Hwang Lu wasn't paying attention to them. He was trying to keep up with Lee Ming's pace.

Getting to his car, Lee Ming quickly drove out of the company grounds and Hwang Lu entered his own car and followed Lee Ming. Lee Ming's mind was  full with questions. Was she really okay? Was their baby inside her hurt?. He couldn't think properly anymore. He increased his speed as he wondered what state Eva might be in. As a result of his clouded mind, Lee Ming didn't notice a huge truck that was a driving towards his direction at an abnormal speed. The truck driver had passed his speed limit and was being chased by the police. Unfortunately, the truck collided with Lee Ming's car. Due to the force, Lee Ming's car was pushed to the other side of the road. The car had turned upside down with Lee Ming still in it. The police were dumbstruck by the turn of events but because of the accident, the truck driver hit the brakes and the police had the opportunity to apprehend him.
Seeing what had occured, Hwang Lu drove to where Lee Ming's car was. Though he knew Lee Ming won't sustain any permanent injuries, he frantically came down from his car and opened the door of Lee Ming's car which did not budge from the inside. People gathered around in concern. They wondered if the man in the car was alive and they also wondered who this other man might be.

Lee Ming eventually got out of the car after Hwang Lu opened the door. Lee was bleeding from his head and he pulled out the piece of glass that punctured his shoulder, making it gush out blood too but they didn't have time to waste! They both entered Hwang Lu's car and drove off immediately.
"I understand that you are concerned about her but why are you so tensed? It was a minor accident!" Hwang Lu asked as he turned to Lee Ming whose injuries were already closing up by themselves. "In fear of his wife who had an accident, he had an accident of his own" Hwang Lu thought inwardly. "She's pregnant" Lee Ming said with a deadpan tone. He simply just wanted to see her and confirm by himself that she was okay and not so hurt. He couldn't afford to lose his child and wife!.
"Damn...no wonder" Hwang Lu said as he now understood why Lee Ming was so tensed. Eva getting involved in an accident was one thing, Eva getting involved in an accident while carrying their unborn child was another thing. Though both would mess with Lee Ming's head, the latter was worse.

In a matter of minutes, they arrived home.
