Harry's pov:
Its been a few years since the pirates started to cause havoc in our kingdom and we can't stop them. Its not for lack of effort but any attempt to reason with them or to prevent them just causes more destruction and chaos.
My parents have decided that they would make a deal with the captain of the ship in hopes of getting something sorted. They arrived home an hour ago and won't stop arguing. I keep hearing them shouting about whatever happened which is rare they would fight so its concerning. I decided to go speak to them and see if they have found a solution. The closer I got the clearer their words became until I was directly outside the door. I knocked on the door quickly so I wouldn't hear anything them they couldn't accuse me of ease dropping and they called for me to enter.
"What is going on?" I asked concerned about their reaction to whatever they agreed to as my mother was say in the bay window seat with tears streaming down her face as my father paced the floor almost creating a dent where he is walking. Both froze at my question as if they were deer in headlights.
"So you know how we made a deal? Well, we agreed that you would marry the captain of the ship to create an everlasting treaty that nobody can break." Father explained causing me to stare at him in complete shock. Mother was sobbing as she couldn't even look at me.
"Are you crazy? Signing our kingdom to pirates so they wouldn't bother us! Have you gone mad? They will have control of all of our kingdom!" I screamed and shouted trying to make them understand how crazy they were being.
"I had the same reaction to their request and assumed neither had spoken to you first which is why I came to ask you." I heard a voice explain behind me. As I spun to see the person I saw him, James Fleamont Potter. He's the captain of the pirates meaning he didn't ask for it my parents suggested the deal and he came to ensure I was okay with it. Guess some people still care even when they don't have to.
"Okay whats your plan or motive here because it'll be over my dead body if you come here thinking I'll let you have control over my kingdom without running anything by me. I can't stop this marriage because anything they say goes until I marry then I can take the throne." I explained to him receiving a small smile.
"I didn't want to rule a kingdom I only took the offer because you're hot and generous. My crew and I just like playing pranks causing some mischief but we don't expect anything from the kingdom. I agreed to meet your parents as I was assuming they would offer some money and we would leave but they aren't willing to part with money as much as you." he told me which enraged me as they didn't try offer anything else just offered the kingdom up.
"Wait you don't want the kingdom?" I asked causing him to chuckle. I then registered the next part of what he said. "Oh um, thanks for the compliment." I blushed as his words were only starting to register in my head as I hadn't realised what he said at first.
"You know anyone in the kingdom would kill to get to even see you but your parents just offered you out without anything in return other than to stop causing chaos like I would've stopped if you had asked us." He told me and my mouth dropped open as he really likes me.
"I'm willing to give this a chance before we marry as if we aren't compatible I'm not willing to carry through with marriage," I told him receiving a small nod and a kiss on the cheek before he left. Oh my god!! He's adorable actually.
