Author's POV:
Kanvi was in a deep slumber, her peaceful dreams interrupted by a sudden surge of awareness. She woke up with a start, her heart racing, as she realized that Vihaan had left his mark on her while she slept. Groggily, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up, her movements slow and deliberate. She made her way to the mirror, her curiosity growing with each step. Reaching out, she turned on the bedlight, casting a warm glow over her reflection.
As she lifted her top, her eyes widened in surprise. Vihaan's artwork adorned her back, a vibrant and intricate design that seemed to dance across her skin. Kanvi's gaze lingered on the painting, her mind struggling to process the reality of the situation. Her eyes, still heavy with sleep, took on a reddish hue, a replica of her shock and confusion.
At that moment, Kanvi's reflection stared back at her, a mix of emotions playing across her face. She looked vulnerable, yet strong; surprised, yet determined. The painting on her back seemed to symbolize the unexpected turn her life had taken, and Kanvi couldn't help but wonder what other surprises lay in store for her.
As the reality of the situation sunk in, Kanvi's eyes welled up with tears. She remembered the studio, the ropes, the feeling of vulnerability. It wasn't a dream. Vihaan had indeed tied her up, exposed her, and painted her back. The memories came flooding back, with them, a wave of emotions. She wanted to hate him, to scream and curse him for his cruelty. But deep down, she knew she couldn't. She had wronged him, and this was his twisted way of making her pay.
With a heavy heart, Kanvi let her top fall back into place, covering the artwork that now felt like a scar. She slumped onto the bed, her body and mind exhausted. She needed water, and a sip of clarity to wash away the turmoil. But as she reached for the jug, she found it empty. The dryness in her mouth seemed to mirror the dryness in her soul.
She lay back, staring blankly at the ceiling, trying to make sense of it all. Vihaan's actions were wrong, but so were hers. She had hurt him, and now he was hurting her. It was a toxic cycle, one she wasn't sure how to break free from. As she lay there, the silence seemed to scream at her, echoing the questions she couldn't answer. What next? How to move forward? And what to do with the emotions that threatened to consume her?
Vihaan's gaze pierced through the darkness as if searching for a glimmer of redemption in the shadows. His eyes, red-rimmed and vulnerable, shone like two full moons in a midnight sky, wet with tears that refused to fall. The weight of his own actions bore down on him, threatening to crush his fragile soul.
As he stood there, frozen in contemplation, his eyes yearned for the solace of sleep, but his mind recoiled in fear. The memories of what he had done to Kanvi would haunt him, taunt him, and forever be etched in his mind like a scar. The thought sent a shiver down his spine, and his breath caught in his throat.
But then, like a raging storm, the memories of every atrocity, every hurt, and every betrayal came flooding back. The faces of those who had wronged him swirled in his mind, their laughter and jeers echoing through his thoughts. Vihaan's eyes flashed with fierce desperation, a longing to escape the pain and the anguish.
At that moment, he wanted to vanish, to disappear into the depths of the Amazon jungle, to lose himself in the vast expanse of green, where the only sounds were the whispers of the wind and the rustle of leaves. He yearned to shed his skin, to shed his identity, and to become one with the wilderness, free from the shackles of his past, free from the torment that had become his life.
Vihaan's legs carried him to the couch, his body surrendering to the weight of his thoughts. He sat, unaware of his surroundings, lost in the maze of his mind. A sea of faces swirled before him, each one a reminder of the love they professed, but never truly felt. They loved the idea of him, the projection of perfection, not the real Vihaan, with his flaws and fears.
