Author's POV:
Kanvi's fingers trembled as she touched the corner of her lips, still burning from Vihaan's tender kiss. Her voice barely above a whisper, she asked, "Why did you do that?"
Vihaan's expression softened, and he let out a gentle sigh. His shoulders rose and fell in a subtle shrug, as if to say, "I couldn't help myself." His eyes, however, revealed a deep affection.
Her eyes welled up with emotions, and her voice cracked as she whispered, "Don't...don't do that again."
Vihaan's face fell, his eyes clouding with confusion and concern. He opened his mouth to speak, but Kanvi's fragile smile silenced him. Her lips curled upward, a painful, forced gesture.
"Please, Vihaan," she pleaded, her voice barely audible. "Don't kiss me again. Ever." Tears brimmed in her eyes, threatening to spill.
Vihaan's brow furrowed, his expression a mix of shock and longing. "Kanvi, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice laced with desperation.
She took a deep breath, summoning courage. "Your kiss...it brings back everything. All the feelings I'm trying to suppress, to forget. It makes me remember how much I love you." Her voice cracked, and a lone tear rolled down her cheek.
Vihaan's eyes filled with sorrow, but Kanvi continued, her words tumbling out like a confessional. "I'm trying so hard to move on, to kill these feelings. But your kiss...it makes it worse. It awakens something deep within me, something I thought was dying."
Her gaze locked onto Vihaan's, filled with a deep sadness. "I can't bear the thought of loving you again and losing you. It's too much to bear."
Vihaan's face contorted in anguish, his hands reaching out involuntarily. But Kanvi moved back, her eyes flashing a warning.
"Don't, Vihaan. Please. Just stay away." Her words hung in the air like a fragile barrier, separating them from the abyss of their unrequited love.
As they looked at each other, their silence grew thick with unspoken emotions. Kanvi's heart ached, torn between her love for Vihaan and the necessity of letting go.
Vihaan's jaw clenched, his eyes burning with determination. He stepped closer, his face inches from Kanvi's, his lips tempting hers. But Kanvi's hands shot out, pressing against his chest, halting his advance.
"Stop!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling. "Don't make a mockery of my feelings!" Her eyes flashed, a fierce warning.
Vihaan's face faltered, his eyes searching hers. Kanvi's chest heaved, her breaths shallow and rapid. Her fingers remained on his chest, a fragile barrier between them.
"Don't kiss me again," she pleaded, her voice cracking. "Don't trifle with my emotions. You know how much I love you, and yet you tease me with gestures that mean nothing to you."
Vihaan's expression twisted, a mix of longing and frustration. His hands covered hers, his touch warm and electrifying.
"Kanvi, I—"
"No!" she interrupted, her voice firm. "You can't keep doing this. You can't keep awakening feelings I'm desperate to bury." Her eyes brimmed with tears, but her gaze remained steadfast.
Vihaan's face fell, his shoulders sagging. He relinquished his hold on her hands, his eyes never leaving hers.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice laced with regret. "I didn't mean to hurt you."
Kanvi's glare softened, replaced by a deep sadness.
"You always hurt me, Vihaan," she whispered. "With every kiss, every touch, every glance. You make me love you more, and it's a cruelty I can no longer bear."
