Kanvi's POV:

He's weird. He is so weird these days. He is not being cold. He is not being hard on me. He is soft. He is the Vihaan I craved to see. But what's the use?  It will pain me more if I let him take all over my senses now. He is that drug that I can't refuse and he was put right under my nose now.

It's uncomfortable sitting in his lap while he is reading a dark romance. I never knew that Vihaan reads Dark Romance too. And His dick is poking me but I'm helpless. He is acting nonchalant.

I was in my deep thoughts and he closed the book with a sound that made me flinch digging his inches deeper. My heart's racing, my cheeks are flushed and I knew he noticed.

He cleared his throat and spoke something which set my body at peace. "Oh, you done with your breakfast? Wash your hands and put the plate in the sink."

I swiftly got up and ran to the kitchen thanking God a million times. I carefully put the heavy porcelain plate in the sink and washed the tip of my fingers. My mobile rang and I sighed. It's on the dining table.

I picked it up and it's a conference call. I settled into the sofa, phone in hand, as Kathie's voice came through the line. "Ladies, can we plan a girl's night out? We're overdue for a catch-up."

Winter's response was immediate. "No, Kathie, I don't think that's a good idea. Ean wouldn't appreciate it."

I bit my lip, glancing at Vihaan, who was engrossed in the telly. I knew he wouldn't take kindly to me going out without him. He'd made his stance clear on such matters.

"I'm afraid I must decline as well, Kathie," I said politely. "Vihaan wouldn't be too pleased about it."

Kathie let out a frustrated sigh. "Fuck, you two are impossible! Can't you just sneak out for one night without your husbands' permission?"

I felt a pang of guilt, but I knew better than to cross Vihaan. "Sorry, Kathie. I wish I could, but it's not worth the row that would ensue."

Winter chimed in, "I'm with Kanvi on this one, Kathie. Let's just plan something else that doesn't involve sneaking around."

Kathie huffed. "Fine, but this is ridiculous. We're adults, for crying out loud! Can't we make our own decisions?"

I sympathised with Kathie's frustration, but I knew my boundaries. "Perhaps we can plan a gathering at one of our homes instead?" Kathie suggested.

"Right, let's gather at Winter's place, then," Kathie said.

I was quick to chime in, "Oh no, Kathie, that's not a good idea. Winter's home is practically Ean's territory. Vihaan wouldn't allow me to set foot in Ean's home."

Kathie let out an exasperated sigh. "For crying out loud, you two! Can't we just have a simple gathering without your husbands' egos getting in the way? They're like rival schoolboys who've never even met!"

I couldn't help but giggle at Kathie's outburst. "I know, right? It's like they're trying to outdo each other in some sort of bizarre competition."

Winter snorted. "Ean's always been a bit territorial, but Vihaan sounds like a right piece of work."

I felt a pang of defensiveness, but Kathie cut in before I could respond. "This is ridiculous. We're grown women, for goodness' sake! Can't we just make our own decisions without our husbands' interference?"

I looked at Vihaan and his intense gazes were directed towards me. He pointed his finger at me and my heartbeats escalated. The voices on the phone faded and all I could see was Vihaan. What did I do to offend him?
