Author's POV:
The anger in Vihaan was setting each day seeing his wife vibe with him. Or that's what it looks like.
The days were passing and Kanvi's exams were almost near. Vihaan was busy with his business and his classes. The preparation holidays were about to end and the exams were ready to start next Thursday.
" I see that you are chilling!" Vihaan spoke as the lift escalated up.
" Hmm... It's not like I want to top the semester. I had my preparation done well Mr. Aurora." Kanvi smiled leaning onto the elevator metal.
" I smell the overconfidence there," Vihaan smirked acting as if he was sniffing.
" Come on stop it Vihaan," Kanvi groaned not finding it funny. " I'm thorough with my preparation."
" If that makes you sleep at night, I believe you," Vihaan mumbled blowing the hair that fell on his eyes.
He picked up the groceries and Kanvi picked the lighter ones. Kanvi opened the door and walked first with the grocery. She pushed the table aside and went to the kitchen getting the refrigerator box for the groceries with some ziplocks.
" You are such a huge mess." Vihaan scoffed grabbing the covers that were about to fall from her hand.
" Thanks." She chirped and sat beside him. She opened the huge grocery bags and pulled out the toiletries first segregatting them aside. Vihaan arranged the vegetables and fruits in the refrigerator box and turned around to see the items neatly piled.
" I'll put these in our room and Anvi Di's room." She said she picked them up only to fall back due to lack of balance.
Vihaan groaned seeing the items scattered around her and a few in his lap. Kanvi gave him a sheepish grin and Vihaan snarled at her.
" I'm sorry. I'm out of balance." She murmured scratching her hair. The pain started seeping into Vihaan's system. She looked at his knee and there was blood coming out of his skin. Kanvi followed his gaze and gasped.
" I freaking didn't mean to Vihaan, it's an accident," Kanvi said trying to touch it scratch. She is scared that he might cut her nails again which Anvi paid for the last time they visited the beauty bar.
" You are not going to get away with this Ma Cherie," Vihaan grunted and held the back of her neck. He pulled her hairpin and she hissed at the sudden drag. " You love this, don't you?" He asked looking at the piece of clip in his hand.
Kanvi gasped as her soft hair fell on her face. She loves the pin. She had that ever since she was 12.
Kanvi's eyes pleaded with Vihaan, her gaze fixed on the hairpin clutched in his hand. "Please, give me back my hairpin."
Vihaan's grip on the hairpin tightened, a sly smile spreading across his face. "No, I like it. It's mine now. You have plenty of other hairpins."
Kanvi inched closer, her voice taking on a desperate tone. "Vihaan, please. It means a lot to me. I've had it since I was a child."
Vihaan leaned back, his eyes glinting with amusement. "No, Ma Cherie. You'll have to try harder than that. I'm not afraid of your puppy dog eyes."
Kanvi's face was inches from Vihaan's, her breath whispering against his skin. "Please, Vihaan. Don't be cruel. I'll do anything."
Vihaan's voice was firm, his jaw set. "No, Kanvi. I won't give it back. You should have thought of that before you lost your balance."
Kanvi's whispers grew softer, her words tumbling out in a rush. "But why not? It's just a hairpin...please, Vihaan...I'll give you anything...just give it back..."
