Author's POV:
Archie's voice crackled over the microphone, sending a jolt of electricity through Vihaan's veins. "Vihaan, I think I've spotted Kanvi," he said, his voice low and urgent. "You need to get into position, now."
His heart skipped a beat as he processed Archie's words. Kanvi. Here. Now. He felt like he'd been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. It had been a month and a half since he'd last seen Kanvi, and the thought of laying eyes on her again was almost too much to bear.
He reached for the microphone, his hand shaking slightly as he brought it to my lips. "I-I'm on my way," he stuttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
He sighed, feeling a wave of frustration wash over him. He was a seasoned operative, for crying out loud! He'd faced danger countless times, and yet, the thought of seeing Kanvi again had him trembling like a leaf.
He took another deep breath, trying to shake off his nerves. He had a job to do, and he couldn't let his feelings get in the way. He squared his shoulders, steeling himself for what was to come.
"Let's do this," he muttered to himself, striding out of the room.
Kanvi's face lit up with a warm smile as she opened the door to receive the parcel from the delivery guy. "Thank you so much!" she exclaimed, taking the package from him. "I appreciate you bringing it back after I missed the delivery date."
The delivery guy smiled and nodded, handing her the receipt to sign. Kanvi quickly scribbled her signature and handed it back to him, watching as he turned and walked away.
Kanvi's eyes sparkled with excitement. She ripped open the package, revealing the exquisite perfume she had ordered for Vidharth. The sweet, intoxicating aroma wafted up, filling her senses and making her feel giddy.
Kanvi couldn't wait to surprise Vidharth with the perfume. She had been searching for the perfect scent for him, and this one was it. She imagined the look on his face when she presented it to him, the way his eyes would light up with delight.
With a happy sigh, Kanvi carefully placed the perfume back in the box, making a mental note to give it to Vidharth at the perfect moment. Little did she know, her life was about to take a dramatic turn, one that would bring her face to face with a ghost from her past.
Kanvi pressed the button of the elevator that would take her to her villa, but instead of the usual smooth whir, the elevator lurched to a stop. The doors refused to budge, neither opening nor closing. Kanvi's frown deepened as she pressed the buttons again, but the elevator remained stubbornly still.
She looked around, but the cellar was deserted. The dim lighting cast long shadows across the walls, making her feel like she was the only person in the world. Kanvi shivered, despite the warmth of the evening. She was alone, and she didn't like it.
Little did she know, she wasn't as alone as she thought. But unknown to Kanvi, her friend Archie was on a mission to find her, accompanied by none other than Vihaan. They had been tracking her movements, following a trail of subtle clues that had led them to this very cellar.
As Kanvi stood there, wondering what to do next, Archie and Vihaan were closing in on her location. They moved stealthily, their footsteps silent on the stairs. Kanvi's isolation was about to come to an abrupt end, and she was completely unaware of the surprise that awaited her.
Kanvi's patience was wearing thin as she pressed the elevator button again and again. She was determined to avoid the main elevator, the one that everyone used. Instead, she opted for the ordinary elevator, the one that would take her from the basement to the upper floors without drawing attention to herself.
