Author's POV:

There is one thing that's going on in the lives of our couple, and that's the chaos, both mental and physical.

Kanvi tries her best to be that good wife and not leave Vihaan out. Vihaan always acted aloof when she was around and it hurt her to see him not acknowledging her efforts or even being concerned about it.

" Vihaan, are you free today?" Asked Kanvi looking at him hopefully.

" No." Came a straight answer which left her dejected.

" I got a call from Yayin Bhai." Kanvi started the conversation sitting beside Vihaan.

" Do I care what happens in your life Kanvi? It's not like we are going to stay together forever." Vihaan said and Kanvi felt a pang of hurt.

" I know. But Bhai and Aratrika are getting engaged. Please join me there." She requested and he looked at her nonchalantly.

" You think I'd attend something that involves your family? No chance I'd go anywhere near your family again. I'm totally done with you and your family." He spat and Kanvi bit her lips as her eyes brimmed with tears.

" Please," Her voice broke and there was a crack in her voice. " They are getting engaged this week."

" How shameless can you be Kanvi? Huh?" He left his laptop and turned to his wife who sat a few centimetres away from him. He roughly pulled the chair and Kanvi gasped at the sudden pull.

" Did they invite you?" He asked and she was silent. " See the irony, they didn't invite the daughter to their house and here you are begging me to come along with you."

" They are my family Vihaan. Is an invitation necessary?" She asked him hopefully but that's making Vihaan feel as if he is talking to some person who is so characterless.

" What would that make you? A great daughter? You would be standing in your brother's engagement not as his sister, but as a woman of no class and respect who gatecrashed their family function." Vihaan said and it's getting harder and harder for Kanvi to cope with the blows he is giving to her. She is feeling as if she is punched in the gut.

" But, Vihaan...." She opened and Vihaan held her jaw. " Listen to me carefully Kanvi, it might have worked if you weren't married to me, but you are my wife now. You represent me whether I like it or not. And I am not invited. So, you got nowhere to go." Vihaan said harshly and pushed her face aside.

" Does your Uncle and Aunt invite you to everything Vihaan?" Kanvi asked so broken by him.

" They do." Came his straight answer. He looked straight into her eyes and he didn't even avert them. He feels that she is too young to understand how this respect and class works.

" But...." She tried to say something but Vihaan's roar intervened making her flinch in her chair. "Go to your room Kanvi and let me work. I have a few responsibilities unlike you."

Kanvi stood up and pushed the chair back slowly and left the room. She doesn't know where she is struck. She feels as if someone is pushing the daggers repeatedly to witness the pain and laugh at her expense.
