Vihaan's POV:

I couldn't shake off the unease since last night's conversation with Aryaman. His words echoed in my mind, filling me with dread.

"What if the head priest reveals something I'm not ready to face?" I thought.

The thought of going to the temple with Kanvi now felt daunting. What secrets would the priest uncover? Would it change everything between us?

My mind raced with questions, making it hard to focus on anything else. Fear gripped my heart, threatening to overwhelm me.

I'm feeling restless. I opened my eyes as sweat drenched me. I turned around to catch a glimpse of my sleeping wife, but she was nowhere to be found.

Fuck, Kanvi!

I got down the bed and looked around the room, closet, and washroom. She is nowhere around.

Fear gripped me and the anxiety was cutting right through my bones. The cold midnight air hit me and it sent chills down my spine. I gazed at the chamber door and there was an opening. The slight peek gave me the idea that she left the chamber. But the question is where did she go?

I ran across the dark corridors and there was no sight of her. My throat was dry and my body was trembling in anxiousness. I can't lose her.

" Kanvi," I called and there was no answer from any corner of the Palace. I gave up and ran out to the garden. I checked all the 8 sides gardens and not even the crickets answered my calls.

"Is this your plot to take revenge Kanvi?" I mused at the silence that has surrounded me.

" Kanvi," I screamed and my eyes went moist not finding my wife.

I ran towards the forest area and the cold wind was sending me chills. The thin T-shirt I wore gave out the access to break my skin and I fathom how my wife is struck around this Palace with her minimal clothes on.

I walked deeper into the forest as I ran out of breath. My eyes are burning and tears leak out. Fear gripped me not finding her around and this time I'd have no excuse if something happened to her. She'd be living her worst nightmares and I have to live in guilt.

I leaned onto a tree and the surroundings looked pitch dark not even allowing the rays of the moon. I tried to calm my racing heart and forced myself to focus on her, to find the clue that could lead me to her.

" KANVI," I bawled and choked on my own words. I spotted a faint silhouette as soon as my eyes adjusted to the darkness of the night. My legs trembled as I took each step forward. The sound of the sobs got intense and my ears perked.

That's her.

" Kanvi," I breathed and she turned around. She swiftly stood up and her figure was trembling uncontrollably. I ran to her and pulled her into a hug caressing her hair softly to ease the tension.
