Author's POV:
The private beach was quiet, wrapped in the soft hum of the waves rolling onto the shore. The sun had just begun its slow rise, casting golden rays over the water, warming the sand, and slipping through the open curtains of their villa. The night had belonged to the moon and stars, watching over them as they lost themselves in each other. But now, it was morning, and the sky, the sea, and the endless horizon bore witness to their quiet aftermath.
Vihaan stirred, the cool ocean breeze brushing over his skin, mixing with the lingering warmth of Kanvi's body against his. The duvet was loose around them, barely covering the way her bare shoulder peeked into the light. Her body was curled into his, soft and warm, fitting against him like she belonged nowhere else.
A strand of her hair fluttered near his lips as he exhaled, his breath light against the curve of her neck. His eyes blinked open slowly, adjusting to the soft glow of the morning. The world was awake, but Kanvi still lay deep in sleep, her breathing slow, steady, peaceful.
He didn't move at first. He just watched her. The way her dark lashes rested against her cheeks, the way her lips parted slightly, the way she held onto the duvet like she was keeping their night close to her heart.
His fingers trailed lightly over her arm, tracing nothing in particular, just feeling her. The sound of the waves filled the space between them, unhurried and calm, much like the way he held her. The sun outside stretched further into the sky, bathing everything in a golden glow, but for Vihaan, the most beautiful sight was here, wrapped in his arms, lost in dreams, untouched by the rush of the world.
He sighed, pressing a soft kiss to her shoulder. If he could, he would stay in this moment forever.
Vihaan couldn't look away.
The morning light painted Kanvi in soft gold, every inch of her glowing against the white sheets that barely covered their entwined bodies. His gaze traced the curve of her cheek, the delicate slope of her nose, the slight parting of her lips as she breathed in the salty ocean air. But it wasn't just her beauty that held him captive, it was everything about her. The way her body instinctively curled toward him, as if she belonged nowhere else. The way her fingers clutched the duvet loosely, like she still held onto the passion they had unraveled last night. The way her breathing was soft, peaceful, yet entirely his.
His fingertips brushed down her spine, featherlight. He leaned in and pressed a small kiss there, right between her shoulder blades. She stirred slightly, a soft, dreamy moan slipping from her lips.
Vihaan smirked, his chest tightening with amusement and desire. His lips hovered just above her ear, his voice deep and smooth, like the gentle waves lapping at the shore.
"Ma Chérie... wake up," he murmured, his lips ghosting over her skin.
Kanvi hummed in response, her body stretching, her back arching just enough for the sheets to slip lower, revealing more of her silky skin to his greedy gaze. Slowly, her lashes fluttered open, and the moment her warm brown eyes locked onto his, she smiled.
God, that smile.
Vihaan sucked in a breath. She always had that effect on him, like she could steal the air from his lungs with just a look. And damn, he must've looked good to her too, because her gaze wandered, taking in his messy hair falling over his forehead, the shadow of his stubble, the sculpted lines of his bare chest.
"You're aging too well," she murmured, her voice thick with sleep.
Vihaan chuckled, running a lazy hand up her side. "Should I take that as a compliment or a warning?"
