" I slept with him...." Came her innocent voice.
" No, she is lying." Screamed Vihaan.
" Stop lying, tell them we were just in one room and nothing else happened. My character is dependent on your truth Miss. Please don't lie." Vihaan warned calmly...
The winds were wheezing in the city of London when the whole city slept curled into the warm duvets while there was this couple wide awake, one in deep thoughts while the other with the conflicts.
"I try to be perfect, to be the wife he wants, but it's never enough. He's distant and cold, and I feel like I'm dying inside. I want to heal him, to make him whole again, but I don't know how."
"I'm so tired of pretending, of putting on a mask to hide my pain. I want to scream, to cry, to let it all out. But I'm trapped in this facade, this marriage that's suffocating him."
He kept on reading them repeatedly knowing that she was not the woman who married him trapping him in her cunning plots. She is suffering too. And he is content of it that she is suffering.
Finally, she understood that she was suffocating him and it put him in a sense of peace that she wanted to let him go willingly.
"I had a dream last night, that he loved me, truly loved me. But when I woke up, reality hit me like a ton of bricks. He'll never love me like that. I'm just a substitute, a poor replacement for the one he truly loves." Kanvi's brain is running wild with thoughts that are never going to settle anytime soon.
She wants to let him go but at what cost? Her peace, her sanity and her love. Every night, she is scared, scared that he might love her in her dreams and leave her once she wakes up. She doesn't want such love. She is giving both of them the pain that they didn't deserve.
She sat on the bed and looked at the clock, which struck 4 exactly. The birds refused to tweet as the chilly winds hindered their beautiful voices, and people refused to wake, ducked up in the warm duvets.
But there is one restless soul who craved something different. She wants to seal the pain she is feeling, she wants the chills of the air to bite her dead and the cold water to freeze her bones.
Kanvi sighed and folded her duvet neatly and arranged the bed. She brushed her teeth and changed into a swimsuit grabbing the key of the terrace swimming pool. She picked up the robe and put it in the duffle bag.
Kanvi opened the door silently and the door made a creaking sound in the eerie silence. She closed the door back and took the elevator to the 52nd floor. From there, she mustered up the courage and pushed the door open.
The swimming pool was filled with dark blue water reflecting the beautiful dark sky. The eagles flew far away from the apartment. She dropped her bag on the chair and sat at the edge forcing her legs into the water. Goosebumps arose on her body and the water's temperature represented those of the Arctic. It's soul freezing.
She took a deep breath and the memories of her mom's words and Vihaan's past behaviour kicked her rapidly reminding her about her deeds which took everyone's happiness. But alas! It's not making her happy either.
She jumped into the pool and the blood in her body curdled stopping her breath as the coldness of the water poked every inch of her skin like a needle.
