"Chan!"

I was peacefully walking down the hallway when our president, Nicole, suddenly called out to me. She was enthusiastically smiling as she approached, and I noticed she was carrying a tarpaulin that seemed almost as tall as she was.

"Hey, hi?"

"Are you free?" tanong niya agad sa akin.

I paused to think if I had any more classes. "Uhm, yes, I'm free for the rest of the day after Ma'am Castro's class. Siya lang naman klase ko."

"Can you accompany me?" muli niyang pagtatanong kaya huminto ako sandali sa paglalakad at nilingon siya.

"Sure, but where to?" I asked, glancing again at the tarpaulin she was carrying. "What's that for? A new mural for the hallway?" tanong ko na may halong kaonting curiosity.

"It's for our club. We're recruiting new members for this new semester," she said with a smile. "Wait, are you interested in joining us?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Uh, no, I can't. I'm a lazy person," I joked, turning her down. "Besides, I'm already the president of the Laziness Club." dagdag ko pa at mukhang hindi naman siya na satisfied sa pagdadahilan ko na pabiro.

"Oh, come on, Chan. You'd definitely love our club, and I know you're talented. I mean, look at how well you avoid responsibilities!"

I shook my head firmly. "That's fake news, Nicks! My only talent is napping through loud noises."

"You can sing, right?"

"Yes, pero only in the shower, where I sound like a superstar," I replied, laughing as I started walking away, but Nicks quickly followed me.

Nicole playfully rolled her eyes. "Come on, join us. You won't regret it. Plus, we have a bunch of snacks."

"Tempting, but I really don't want to, sorry. Besides, I don't even know what your club is about, and you're trying to recruit me," I reasoned with her pero mukhang determine talaga siya na marecruit ako.

"It's the Masters Club. We aim to showcase your special talent beyond your limitations," she explained, making me laugh even more.

"See, I don't have any talent in anything! I can barely master getting up in the morning." pabiro ko pang sagot sa kaniya, pero totoo naman.

"Liar, I know you know how to sing, you're just shy," she teased me.

"Shy? More like I'm doing the world a favor by not singing in public. You know, preserving peace and all that," I quipped.

"Oh, please! The world needs more singers, even if it's just for comedic relief," she chuckled. "Besides, I heard you singing to the cubicle the other day."

"Pa'no ka nakakasiguro na ako nga iyon, aber?"

"Duh, I know your voice." she confidently said. "Sige na, Chan. Sumali ka na po please." paawang sabi niya kaya mas natawa ako, she looks like a puppy na gusto ng dogfood.

"Stop it, hindi ako makukuha sa ganyan!"

Ngumuso siya sa akin. "We have plenty of foods there, tsaka you won't get bored naman."

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. "Talaga?"

"Yeah, kaya sumali ka na sa amin."

"Pag-iisipan ko pa," she cut me off and grabbed my left arm.

"Huwag mo na pag-isipan, sumali ka na!"

Binawi ko naman ang kamay sa kaniya. "Luh, pag-iisipan ko pa nga eh, pala desisyon ka naman, ano ka chicks?"
