***author's pov***

The next day, Aayara was still in the cold, dark dungeon, bound tightly with chains. Her body ached from the uncomfortable position, and her wrists were sore from the heavy iron cuffs. The dim light that barely reached the dungeon only made the place more eerie. She shivered, not only from the cold but also from the uncertainty of what Arjun had planned for her.

Her mind raced as she tried to think of a way out, but the chains clinked with every slight movement, reminding her of her helplessness. Despite her fear and pain, she remained determined, anger still simmering beneath her fear. She wouldn’t give in easily.

The heavy door creaked open, and footsteps echoed down the stone floor. She braced herself, knowing it was likely Arjun or one of his men coming to check on her.

Arjun strode towards Aayara, his half-buttoned shirt revealing his muscular chest. His presence filled the dungeon, making the air feel heavier. His dark, piercing eyes locked onto her as he moved closer. The clinking of the chains echoed louder in the eerie silence as she instinctively pulled away, though she had nowhere to go.

He smirked, his eyes gleaming with control and amusement. "Still thinking you can escape, little one?" he taunted, his voice low and menacing.

Aayara glared at him, her defiance unbroken despite her situation. "I'll never be yours," she spat, her voice hoarse but firm.

Arjun chuckled darkly, leaning down to her level, his face inches from hers. "We'll see how long that attitude lasts," he murmured, his breath warm against her skin. His fingers brushed her cheek for a moment before he stood up straight, surveying her like a predator watching his prey.

Aayara struggled against the chains, her wrists aching as she tried to free herself. Her heart raced with a mix of fear and anger, but no matter how much she pulled, the metal bindings wouldn’t budge. She glared up at Arjun, her eyes burning with defiance.

"Let me go!" she yelled, her voice filled with desperation.

Arjun tilted his head, watching her futile attempts with a smirk playing on his lips. He crossed his arms over his chest, clearly amused by her resistance. "Keep struggling, little one. It won’t change a thing."

Aayara's breath quickened as she realized the futility of her situation, but she refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her break. "You can't keep me like this forever," she hissed through clenched teeth.

Arjun stepped closer, his expression darkening. "You have no idea what I'm capable of."

Arjun stepped closer, leaning in as he looked down at her struggling form. His voice dropped to a dangerously soft tone, “Don’t hurt yourself, Aayara.”

She froze for a moment, her breath catching.

He tilted her chin up with a finger, his cold eyes locking onto hers. “I don’t like my things getting marked,” he said, his words dripping with possessiveness.

Aayara recoiled, disgust and fury flashing in her eyes. “I’m not your thing!” she spat, her voice trembling with rage.

Arjun simply smirked, as if her words didn’t matter. "We'll see about that."

Aayara glared at Arjun, her chest rising and falling heavily as she breathed, exhaustion overtaking her body. Though weak, her spirit was unbroken, and her eyes burned with defiance.

"You're pathetic," she muttered, her voice hoarse but steady.

Arjun's smirk faltered slightly as he studied her. He crouched down to her level, his expression unreadable. "Pathetic?" he repeated, his voice low. "We'll see how long you hold on to that pride."
