Daksh collapsed onto his bed, the soft mattress providing a brief respite from the day's stresses. He lay there, staring at the ceiling, trying to push the images of Payal and Rayansh from his mind. The coolness of the room and the quiet of the mansion offered a stark contrast to the chaos he felt inside.
As he relaxed, the thoughts of his own actions and feelings swirled in his mind. Despite his bravado, he couldn’t deny a lingering sense of unease and frustration. He closed his eyes, hoping a short rest would help him clear his head before dinner.
Daksh sat up, pulling himself out of his thoughts as the knock echoed through his room.
"Come in," he called, his voice slightly groggy.
The maid entered, her expression polite and professional. "Dinner is ready, Mr. Daksh. Shall I escort you to the dining room?"
Daksh nodded, stretching slightly before rising from the bed. "Yes, please. Lead the way."
He followed the maid through the grand corridors of the mansion, his mind still partially preoccupied with the day's events and the lingering annoyance at Payal and Rayansh.
As Daksh descended the stairs, he saw his father, Mahesh Oberoi Singhania, and his elder brother, Rudra, already seated at the dining table. They were engaged in conversation, their expressions serious yet relaxed.
Mahesh looked up and smiled slightly upon seeing Daksh. "Ah, Daksh. Just in time for dinner."
Rudra nodded in acknowledgment, his gaze briefly meeting Daksh's before turning back to the conversation with their father.
Daksh took his seat at the table, feeling the shift in atmosphere as the family dinner began. He tried to shake off the remnants of his earlier frustration and focused on the meal ahead.
Rudra glanced at Daksh and smiled warmly. "Had a long day, little brother?" he asked, trying to ease the tension.
Daksh returned the smile, though it was a bit forced. "You could say that," he replied, taking his seat.
Mahesh observed the exchange, a hint of amusement in his eyes as he waited for the dinner to be served. The atmosphere at the table was one of familial camaraderie, offering a brief respite from the day's earlier events.
Arjun walked down the stairs, his black kurta slightly wrinkled and his hair tousled. He seemed tired but maintained his usual commanding presence. As he approached the dining table, he glanced at his brothers and father, his gaze lingering briefly on Daksh with an unreadable expression.
"Evening," he said, his voice carrying a hint of exhaustion. He took his seat at the head of the table, his demeanor shifting to a more formal and controlled state as he prepared for dinner.
As they settled into their seats, the conversation around the dining table began:
Arjun: "How was your day, Daksh?"
Daksh: "Same old. Just a bit of fun at college and dealing with idiots like Rayansh."
Rudra: *raising an eyebrow* "I heard you had a bit of a confrontation today."
Daksh: *smirking* "Just some guy trying to act tough. Nothing I couldn't handle."
Mahesh: * *glancing at Arjun* "And how was your day, Arjun?"
Arjun:** "Busy as usual. The office was a mess. But it's under control now."
Rudra:** *noticing Arjun's tiredness* "You should get some rest, Arjun. You look like you need it."
