***author's pov***.

Aayara awoke in Arjun's arms, a soft smile gracing her lips as she admired his peaceful features in the morning light. The warmth of his embrace made her heart flutter, and for a brief moment, she forgot the turmoil of the previous day.

However, her smile faltered as the scent of a female perfume clung to him, creeping back into her mind. The warmth that enveloped her now felt mixed with uncertainty. Did he really care for her? The questions from last night nagged at her, shadowing her happiness.

Deciding to push those thoughts aside, she leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. Arjun stirred, a slight smile touching his lips, and her heart raced at the sight of him.

As he shifted, Aayara took a deep breath, willing herself to focus on the moment rather than the doubts swirling in her mind. She wanted to believe in the strength of their bond.

Arjun wrapped an arm around her, holding her closer as he settled back into sleep. She watched him, her heart full of affection yet tinged with apprehension. This is good, she thought, clinging to the hope that their connection was stronger than the shadows of his past.

As he got up to shower, Aayara prepared for the day, determined to confront her fears. She would remind him of their love, of what they were building together. Today was a new day, and she intended to make it count.

As Arjun dressed in his tailored shirt and trousers, Aayara entered the room, carrying a tray filled with breakfast. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm toast filled the air, but her heart raced for a different reason. She hoped that this simple act would break the ice between them, especially after the confusion and hurt from the previous night.

“Good morning,” she said softly, setting the tray on the bedside table.

He glanced at her, his expression unreadable, before continuing to button his shirt. Aayara felt a pang in her chest at his distant demeanor but brushed it aside. She forced a bright smile, trying to inject warmth into the atmosphere.

“I made your favorite,” she said, gesturing to the eggs and toast. “I thought it might brighten your morning.”

He paused for a moment, his gaze flickering to the tray before returning to his reflection in the mirror. “I’m not hungry,” he replied curtly.

Her smile faltered, but she quickly regained her composure. “It’s important to eat, especially if you have a long day ahead,” she insisted gently, moving closer to him.

As he finished dressing, she reached for his arm. “Please, just try a bite.”

Arjun turned to her, his expression softening momentarily before he masked it with indifference. “I said I’m not hungry.”

Aayara’s heart sank. She wanted to reach out, to bridge the gap that had formed between them, but his coldness made it difficult. “Okay, but I’ll leave it here just in case,” she said, stepping back and forcing herself to keep her tone light.

He sighed, frustration flickering in his eyes as he pulled his jacket on. “You don’t have to do this, Aayara. You don’t need to play the perfect wife.”

“I’m not trying to be perfect,” she replied, her voice trembling slightly. “I just want us to be okay.”

Aayara's voice trembled with anger and hurt as she faced Arjun. “You think you can just waltz in here, smelling like another woman, and treat me like this? I’ve given everything to this marriage, and you’re throwing it all away!”

Arjun stayed silent, his expression cold as he buttoned his shirt. But inside, he felt a flicker of concern—he couldn’t afford to lose her. He had to regain control of the situation and manipulate her feelings to ensure she wouldn’t walk away.
