Daksh slammed the car door shut and stormed towards the mansion, his anger palpable. He didn't spare a glance at Mehak, who was trailing behind him.
Mehak got out of the car, feeling a mix of frustration and resignation. She quickened her pace to catch up with him, but kept a cautious distance.
Daksh marched into the mansion, his face set in a hard expression. He stormed through the entrance, barely acknowledging the staff who greeted him.
Mehak followed, her eyes scanning the grand interior of the mansion. She couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the opulence and her own sense of being an outsider.
Without turning back, Daksh called over his shoulder. "Stay out of my way. I've had a rough day and don't want to deal with any more of your drama."
Mehak clenched her fists, trying to control her temper. "Fine. I'll stay out of your way. But don't think this is over."
Daksh continued walking, his frustration barely contained. "Whatever. Just stay put until I figure out what to do with you."
Mehak watched him go, feeling a surge of determination. She was not going to let Daksh or anyone else treat her like a pawn.
Daksh reached his room and slammed the door behind him, needing space to cool off and process the chaotic day.
Mehak walked into her mother's room, feeling a bit more at ease as she approached Meera. The room was lavishly decorated, a reflection of Meera's taste and status.
Meera looked up from her book with a warm smile, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Mehak. She set the book aside and opened her arms for a hug. "There you are, darling. How was your day?"
Mehak embraced her mother but couldn't hide the frustration in her eyes. "It was... rough. Daksh was in a terrible mood, and I just didn't fit in at the college."
Meera stroked Mehak's hair soothingly. "I'm so sorry to hear that. You must remember, dear, that you're still adjusting. Give it time. Daksh can be difficult, but things will settle, and he will behave like you want him to be ." her last sentence was a bit low and a smirk played on her lips.
Mehak sighed and pulled back slightly. "I know, Mom. It's just hard when he's so dismissive and the other students act like I'm not even there."
Meera's smile softened with understanding. "Sometimes, people act out of their own insecurities. Don't let it get to you. You're stronger than you think. Focus on your studies and finding your place, and you know we are not here to make family. "
Mehak nodded, feeling a bit more reassured. "Thanks, Mom. I'll try to keep that in mind. I just want to fit in . "
Meera took Mehak's hands in hers. "You're never a burden. You're my daughter, and I'm here for you. We'll make this work together. Just keep your head up."
Mehak squeezed her mother's hands gratefully. "I appreciate it. I'll do my best."
Meera smiled encouragingly. "That's my girl. Now, why don't we have a nice tea together and relax? You deserve it."
Meera leaned back in her plush armchair, a calculating glint in her eyes. "You know, Mehak, it's crucial for me to ensure the boys-especially Daksh-stay in line and follow my will. They've been a bit unruly lately."
Mehak looked at her mother with concern. "What do you mean? They're not behaving?"
Meera waved a hand dismissively. "Oh, they're behaving in their own way. But they need to adhere to the rules I set, or they'll get too wild. They can't be allowed to disregard my authority."
Meera's eyes narrowed as she thought about Aayara. "And then there's this new girl, Aayara. She's become a bit of a thorn in my plans. Her presence might complicate things, especially with Arjun."
Mehak tilted her head, puzzled. "How so? What's the problem with Aayara?"
Meera smirked. "Aayara is in Arjun's orbit now. She could potentially disrupt the balance I'm trying to maintain. If she gets too close to Arjun, it could undermine my control over him and the household."
Mehak's eyes widened. "So, what are you going to do about it?"
Meera leaned in, her expression intense. "I need to make sure she knows her place. I can't have her causing trouble. I'll find a way to keep her under control, either by influencing her directly or making sure she's kept busy elsewhere."
Mehak nodded, understanding the seriousness of the situation. "I see. I'll support you in whatever you need to do."
Meera smiled appreciatively. "Thank you, dear. Together, we'll ensure that everything goes according to plan. We can't let anyone, especially not someone like Aayara, disrupt our goals."
