Arjun stepped off his private airplane as it landed in Shimla’s small airport, the crisp winter air hitting him sharply. The snow had already begun to blanket the ground in a pristine white layer, the mountains surrounding the city standing silent and majestic in the distance. His black coat swayed as he walked purposefully across the runway, his dark eyes sharp with determination. There was no room for hesitation now.
His secretary was already waiting by the car, handing him a phone with the latest updates. "Sir, we've confirmed that Aayara was seen at the bus stand. She's traveling on a bus heading towards the city outskirts."
Arjun sat back in his car, his eyes dark with intent, as the snowfall outside blurred into a haze. His lips curled into a smirk, the cold night air only intensifying the fire in his chest. The information from his secretary rang in his mind—Aayara had been spotted at the bus stand, and from there, she had boarded the bus heading out of Shimla.
He leaned forward slightly, his gaze piercing through the car window as the vehicle made its way through the traffic. The snowstorm had caused chaos, but Arjun wasn’t fazed. He had been through much worse. As the car’s engine hummed steadily through the snow-covered streets, his thoughts lingered on Aayara.
"Why are you running, Aayara?" he muttered under his breath. His voice, cold and calculating, had a trace of something far darker—something that had been festering for two years. The years they had spent apart, with her running away from him, had only fueled his desire to find her and reclaim what was his.
“Don't worry, I’m coming for you," he murmured, the corners of his lips twisting into a sinister smile. “You can run, but you can’t hide from me. Not anymore.”
He glanced at the phone screen again, confirming the bus’s location. His fingers tightened around the armrest as the car slid smoothly through the thickening snow. The bus was up ahead, stuck in the traffic. She would be here soon. He would be there waiting, and this time, he wasn’t going to let her slip away again.
Aayara, in her desperate attempt to escape him, had no idea that he was already one step ahead.
His thoughts drifted to the past—the way she had left him so suddenly. The anger, the betrayal, the feeling of being blindsided. But now, it didn’t matter. All that mattered was finding her. And this time, there would be no escape.
The car turned onto the narrow, snow-covered road where the bus had stalled. Arjun’s eyes flickered with anticipation as he looked ahead, the bus visible through the flurry of snowflakes. He smirked, already imagining the moment when he would stand face to face with her again.
"You won't get away this time, Aayara," he whispered to himself as he stepped out of the car, his long coat billowing behind him, and began walking towards her. The game was about to begin again.
The cars came to a sudden halt, and an eerie silence fell over the street. Aayara’s eyes widened as she looked through the window, seeing several black cars strategically blocking the road, cutting off any possible escape. People around her started to whisper, their voices full of anxiety, but they quickly fell silent as they noticed the armed men stepping out of the vehicles.
Aayara's heart raced in her chest, a knot of fear tightening in her stomach. She could feel the tension in the air as the men, all wearing dark coats and holding guns, moved with precision. The entire atmosphere seemed to shift, heavy with the impending threat. The passengers on the bus shifted uneasily in their seats, some of them trembling at the sight of the men.
She glanced out the window, her breath catching in her throat. In the distance, she could see a man in a long black coat walking with an air of authority, his movements calculated and deliberate. Her blood ran cold as she recognized him immediately. Arjun.
Aayara froze, her hand instinctively clutching her son tighter. The moment she had been dreading had arrived. Arjun had found her.
As he walked closer, his piercing gaze never leaving her, Aayara felt a cold chill run down her spine. His presence was overpowering, and it was as if the world around her disappeared. She could barely breathe, her chest tightening in fear and panic. She had thought she could escape, but here he was, with his men, and no way out.
She looked down at Abhimanyu, who was still sleeping soundly in her arms, oblivious to the danger that was closing in. She couldn’t let him get hurt. She had to protect him, no matter what.
Her mind raced as she searched for an escape plan, but it was clear that Arjun’s reach was far too powerful. The realization hit her hard—she was trapped.
Aayara’s hand trembled as she tried to keep calm, her thoughts spinning. She couldn’t let him take them back. Not after everything. But with each step Arjun took toward the bus, her resolve began to waver.
As the distance between them closed, Arjun’s eyes locked onto hers, and for a brief moment, everything around her went still. His expression was cold, emotionless, as if he had already decided her fate.
Aayara swallowed hard, her breath shaky. She whispered to herself, barely audible, "He came..."
The sound of his footsteps drew closer, and the fear in her chest intensified.
