***AUTHOR'S POV***
Meanwhile, Aayara tossed and turned in her bed, unable to find any comfort as the night dragged on. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying, and the silence of the room felt suffocating without Arjun’s presence. She stared at the door, her mind racing with worry and uncertainty.
Where had he gone? The thought of him being with another woman sent a pang of anguish through her heart. Aayara hugged her knees to her chest, her mind spiraling through all the possibilities. He was powerful, wealthy, and irresistibly charming—how could she be sure he wouldn’t seek solace elsewhere?
The memories of their last encounter played on repeat in her head, mixed with the chilling fear of what he might be doing at that very moment. Does he even care? she wondered, feeling the sting of doubt settle in her heart. Or am I just a pawn in his life?
She moved to the corner of the bed, her back against the wall, trying to find some comfort in the familiar space that felt so alien without him. Aayara buried her face in her hands, taking deep breaths to calm her racing thoughts, but every breath seemed heavier than the last. The uncertainty gnawed at her, keeping her awake as the hours passed slowly by, leaving her feeling even more isolated and vulnerable.
The night dragged on, Aayara still perched in the corner of her bed, feeling the weight of loneliness and anxiety pressing down on her. Just as she was starting to lose hope, the door creaked open at 4 AM.
Arjun stepped inside, his shirt buttons undone, his posture slightly unsteady. Aayara’s heart raced as she noticed the flush on his cheeks, realizing he must have been drinking. A mix of concern and fear washed over her. What kind of trouble had he gotten into this time?
As he climbed onto the bed, Aayara instinctively shivered, uncertain of how to address him. She opened her mouth to call his name, but before she could utter a sound, he shushed her with a wave of his hand.
“Just… be quiet,” he murmured, his voice thick with exhaustion and something else she couldn’t quite place. Without waiting for her response, he pulled her into his arms, burying his face against her chest. The warmth of his body enveloped her, and despite her initial shock, she found herself relaxing into him.
His presence was familiar and strangely comforting, but a twinge of confusion lingered in her mind. What had happened to him? She wanted to ask, wanted to understand, but his quietness demanded her silence.
With a sigh, she settled into the embrace, feeling the tension in her body start to ease as he slept soundly against her. For the moment, she allowed herself to forget her worries, to focus on the feeling of having him close, even if it was accompanied by the uncertainty of what lay beneath the surface.
Aayara wrapped an arm around Arjun as she lay beside him, her heart swelling with a mix of love and concern. He was sleeping like a child in her embrace, his features softened in the gentle light that filtered through the curtains.
As she traced her fingers lightly along his jawline, her mind began to wander, replaying the events of the previous day. She thought about how he had come to her rescue, how fiercely he had protected her. But with that strength came an unsettling worry. Where had he been all night?
She had drifted off to sleep, filled with unease, wondering what dark paths he might have ventured down while she lay in their bed, unaware of the chaos that might have surrounded him. The thought gnawed at her, mingling with the warmth of his presence.
“Is this the man I’m married to?” she mused quietly to herself. Arjun was a complex blend of power and gentleness, and in moments like this, when he was so vulnerable, she could almost forget the ruthless persona he wielded in the outside world.
But the reality of their situation loomed in her thoughts. Aayara bit her lip, thinking of the dangers that came with being married to someone like him. His life was fraught with peril, and she could only hope he was safe, no matter where he had gone.
She adjusted her position slightly, nestling her head against his shoulder and breathing in the familiar scent that was uniquely Arjun. As she drifted further into thought, she couldn’t shake the feeling that their lives were about to change again.
“Arjun,” she whispered softly, unsure if he could hear her. “I just want you to be safe.”
She closed her eyes, trying to find solace in the rhythm of his breathing, her heart easing just a little as she felt his warmth enveloping her. For now, she would cherish these quiet moments, even as her mind remained restless with questions about the future.
She whispered to herself, "Kabhi naa kabhi to mujhe pta chalega ki tumhari aankhein aur tumhari baatein ek dusre se alag kyun hain... aur tab tak... sabr aur pyaar. Pyaar sikhauungi tumhe aur sabr rakhungi main."
Aayara's heart ached with the weight of her thoughts. She longed to understand the man who lay beside her, the complexities hidden behind his stoic facade. His eyes held secrets she could only dream of deciphering, and his words often masked his true feelings.
In that quiet moment, she resolved to be patient, to nurture their bond with love and understanding. She would show him the depths of her affection, hoping that one day, he would open up and let her in. Until then, she would cultivate her own strength and patience, willing to wait for the day when he would finally reveal the truth behind the shadows in his gaze.
As she continued to hold him close, the weight of her promise settled in her heart. She would be there for him, a beacon of light in his dark world, teaching him about love and tenderness while nurturing her own hope for their future.
