Rudra looked at Diya with a chuckle, breaking the silence. “What are you staring at, Diya?” he asked, his tone light but with an undertone of curiosity. His gaze was playful, yet there was a hint of genuine interest in his eyes.
Diya, slightly taken aback, looked down at her hands for a moment before meeting his gaze again. "Oh, it's nothing," she said, trying to sound casual. "I just... thought you did an amazing job out there."
Rudra's smile widened, his eyes softening. "Thanks. It was a tough race, but winning always feels great."
Diya nodded, her heart fluttering a bit. "It really showed your skill and dedication. You’re always so focused and determined."
Rudra leaned back on the couch, studying her with interest. "You know, you’ve been quiet today. You usually have more to say."
Diya hesitated, feeling a bit vulnerable. "I guess I was just caught up in the excitement. And, well, I didn’t want to intrude too much."
Rudra raised an eyebrow, leaning forward slightly. "Intrude? You’re always welcome to talk to me, Diya. I enjoy our conversations."
Diya’s cheeks flushed slightly at his words. "Thanks, Rudra. That means a lot."
Rudra’s gaze softened, and he offered her a reassuring smile. "So, what are your plans now? Anything special on your mind?"
Diya considered the question for a moment, then said, "I’m just glad to see you happy. Maybe we could hang out sometime, get to know each other better."
Rudra’s smile grew genuine. "I’d like that. Let’s make it happen."
As they continued to talk, the atmosphere between them grew more relaxed and warm, with Rudra’s attention focused on Diya and Diya’s heart filled with hope.
Diya’s smile faltered slightly as Rudra spoke. His words, though kind, carried a weight that she couldn’t ignore. "You know, Diya," Rudra said, "I really appreciate you being here and supporting me. I value our friendship a lot."
Diya’s heart sank a bit, though she tried to keep her expression neutral. "I’m glad you do," she replied, her voice softer than before. "I value our friendship too."
Rudra noticed the change in her demeanor. "Is everything alright? You seem a bit down."
Diya forced a smile, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. "It’s nothing. Just... a bit tired, I guess."
Rudra nodded, seeming to accept her explanation, though he looked slightly concerned. "If there’s anything you need or want to talk about, I’m here."
Diya nodded, trying to keep her voice steady. "Thanks, Rudra. I’ll keep that in mind."
As the conversation continued, Diya’s thoughts were a mix of disappointment and hope. Despite the friendly nature of their relationship, she couldn’t shake the feeling that her feelings for him might never be reciprocated in the way she wished.
Later, as Rudra was relaxing, his phone buzzed with a call from Daksh.
"Hey, Daksh," Rudra answered, trying to sound cheerful despite his earlier conversation with Diya.
"Hey, Rudra! How was the race?" Daksh’s voice was enthusiastic. "I heard you totally crushed it out there!"
Rudra chuckled, his mood lightening at Daksh’s excitement. "Yeah, it was intense. But I managed to pull through and win. Sahil had a bit of an accident, so I took the lead."
"That’s awesome, man! I knew you’d win," Daksh said, his tone full of admiration. "How are you holding up?"
"I’m good, just a bit tired. And there was some drama with Maya and Diya earlier," Rudra admitted.
