The moment Dia heard her brother Vishal confirm her hand in marriage to Rudra, her face lit up with excitement. A broad smile spread across her lips, and she nodded rapidly, unable to hide her happiness.
"Really, Bhai? Rudra?" she whispered to herself, her heart fluttering. She had always admired Rudra from afar, and now this was turning into a dream come true for her.
She stood in the corner, her eyes sparkling as she thought about their future together, completely unaware of Rudra's reluctance and the storm brewing in his heart.
Dia instantly agreed, her voice brimming with excitement. "Yes! I’ll marry Rudra!" she declared without hesitation, her cheeks flushing with joy.
Her enthusiasm was clear for everyone to see, and Vishal smirked proudly at her decision, feeling satisfied that the arrangement would solidify their family’s status. Dia’s heart raced, envisioning the life she would have with Rudra, completely oblivious to his objections and the tension building beneath the surface.
To her, this was the beginning of her fairy tale.
The next day, Vishal informed Arjun with a satisfied smile, "Arjun, Dia has agreed to the marriage with Rudra. Everything is settled now. Our families' ties will remain strong."
Arjun nodded, his expression unreadable. "Good. At least that part of the problem is resolved," he replied, his tone calm but distant.
Vishal added, "I knew she would agree. It’s a good match for both families. This will bring us closer, as it should."
Arjun glanced at Vishal, his mind already focused elsewhere, primarily on his upcoming wedding with Aayara. "I hope everything goes as smoothly for your sister and Rudra as it will for me."
Arjun smirked, a dark glint in his eyes as he leaned back in his chair. "Now, no one can interrupt my marriage with Aayara," he muttered to himself, the satisfaction evident in his voice.
His thoughts swirled with the power he now had over her and the control he had secured over the situation. No more obstacles. Vishal was appeased, and with Dia set to marry Rudra, no one would stand in his way.
He stood up, ready to continue with the preparations, his mind only focused on one thing—claiming Aayara as his.
Rudra walked into the mansion, still fuming from the earlier conversation. His eyes widened in shock as he saw the wedding preparations in full swing—flowers being arranged, decorations everywhere, and servants rushing around. The reality hit him hard. His brother’s wedding with Aayara was happening, and it was all moving so fast.
“What the hell is going on?” Rudra muttered under his breath, clenching his fists. The frustration in him bubbled up again, his mind racing with thoughts of how he could stop this madness. His gaze hardened as he looked around, searching for Arjun. He needed answers.
Arjun stood at the top of the staircase, smirking as he watched Rudra fume. He was ready to drop the final bombshell. With a confident stride, he descended the stairs, making his way toward Rudra, his smirk only growing wider.
“So, brother,” Arjun began, his voice dripping with satisfaction, “I have some news for you. You’ll be happy to know that Dia has agreed to marry you.” He paused, enjoying the look of disbelief on Rudra’s face. “She’s all in for this marriage, and everything is settled. Isn’t that fantastic?”
Rudra’s eyes widened, his anger barely contained. “What did you say?” he growled, his voice low but dangerous.
Arjun chuckled, stepping closer. “You heard me, Rudra. Dia is excited about the marriage. So, you better start preparing. Our families' futures are sealed, and no one can stop it now.”
Rudra let out a scream of disbelief, his voice echoing through the mansion. “How could she agree?!” he shouted, his fists clenched in frustration.
He paced back and forth, shaking his head. “Dia knows how I feel about her! She’s my friend, not someone I can marry!” His voice was raw, filled with confusion and anger.
Arjun leaned back against the wall, folding his arms smugly. “Well, it seems like your friend had other plans, Rudra. Maybe she’s been waiting for this moment all along. You can’t escape it now.”
Rudra’s chest heaved with frustration as he stared at his brother. “This isn’t right, Arjun. You’re forcing this on both of us!”
Arjun shrugged. “It’s what’s best for our families, Rudra. You’ll get used to it.”
Rudra clenched his jaw tightly, his anger barely contained. He knew Arjun was his older brother, the head of the family, and despite his frustration, he couldn’t openly defy him. It was an unspoken rule — he couldn’t say no.
His eyes flashed with a mix of resentment and helplessness as he glared at Arjun. “You always make decisions for me,” Rudra muttered, his voice low but tense. “But this… this is my life. How can you expect me to just accept this?”
Arjun’s gaze remained cold and commanding. “You’ll do what’s necessary for the family, Rudra. This marriage is not just about you; it’s about our legacy, our reputation. I’ve made my decision.”
Rudra’s fists tightened at his sides. He wanted to scream, to argue, but he knew it wouldn’t change anything. He was trapped.
Rudra groaned in frustration, storming off towards his room. As he walked past the hallway, his eyes caught Aayara standing by the door, looking at him with those innocent, wide eyes. Her gaze softened as if she sensed the turmoil he was going through.
For a moment, their eyes met, and he saw the unspoken question in her expression. She looked concerned, almost as if she wanted to reach out, but she said nothing. Rudra clenched his fists, trying to push away the frustration boiling inside him.
He exhaled sharply, looking away. "Don't look at me like that, Aayara," he muttered under his breath, his voice tight with irritation. "You don't understand."
Aayara's gaze followed him as he disappeared into his room, leaving her standing there, confused and unsure of what had just transpired.
