As Aayara stepped onto the grand staircase, Meera's voice drifted from behind, sharp and cutting like a blade.

"Run away," Meera said casually, her tone laced with malice. Aayara stopped in her tracks, her heart skipping a beat as Meera's words continued. "He will throw you out anyway. Especially after the pregnancy. Your body will change, you'll have marks, and you know how much Arjun despises imperfections."

Aayara slowly turned to face her, her face pale, her hands clutching the banister for support. Meera smirked, stepping closer, her eyes gleaming with cruel satisfaction. "You'll become worthless to him. Even as a bed warmer."

Aayara's breath hitched, her lips trembling as she tried to process the onslaught of words. "M-Ma ji, what are you saying?" she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.

Meera chuckled darkly, her expression devoid of warmth. "Oh, come now, Aayara. Don't act so naive. You know why he married you-to salvage his reputation, nothing more. You were a convenient pawn, nothing else or I say slave . "

Aayara shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. "He... he's been kind to me lately," she said, her voice quivering, as if trying to convince herself more than Meera.

"Kind?" Meera sneered, her tone mocking. "That man doesn't love you, Aayara. If he did, he wouldn't have torn his mother's saree in a fit of rage when you wore it. And let me guess..." She paused, tilting her head. "Has he given you his mother's earrings yet? The ones he always said he'd give to his wife?"

Aayara froze, her mind racing. "N-No," she admitted hesitantly, her voice breaking. "He never mentioned them."

Meera leaned in closer, her smirk deepening. "Exactly. Because you're not his wife in his eyes. You're just a placeholder, a means to an end. And once you're no longer useful..." She let her words hang in the air, the silence more damning than anything else.

Aayara felt her knees weaken as Meera walked away, her footsteps echoing ominously in the quiet hall. Her world seemed to crumble around her, doubts and fears flooding her mind.

Aayara froze in her tracks, Meera's venomous words echoing in her ears like a haunting refrain. Slowly, she turned to look at Meera, who had already walked away, her smirk lingering like a shadow in the dimly lit hallway.

Her breath hitched, and her fingers trembled as she clutched the edge of the bed for support. The room seemed to close in around her, suffocating her with the weight of Meera's cruel insinuations. Run away... worthless... only a pawn for his reputation.

Her thoughts spiraled into chaos. Every glance, every word, every moment with Arjun replayed in her mind. Had he truly only married her for appearances? Had every touch, every gesture of care been a mere facade?

She shook her head, trying to dispel the doubt that clawed at her heart. "No," she whispered to herself. "He wouldn't..." But even as she said it, uncertainty crept in, and her knees buckled.

Sinking onto the bed, Aayara wrapped her arms around herself, her mind waging a war. One part of her wanted to believe in the tenderness she'd seen in Arjun, the way he had cared for her wounds, the vulnerability in his eyes when he spoke of his mother. But another part couldn't ignore the harsh reality of his stoicism, his temper, and the walls he had built around himself.

Will he hate me if I tell him? Will he leave me if I change?

Tears welled up in her eyes as she glanced at her reflection in the mirror. Her fingers instinctively brushed against her abdomen, where a new life might be growing. "What if she's right?" she murmured, her voice trembling. "What if I lose everything?"

But deep down, another voice stirred-quiet but resolute. I need to know the truth. I can't run. I need to face him, even if it breaks me.

With a shaky breath, Aayara wiped her tears and stood up, her resolve strengthening. She wouldn't let Meera's words destroy her. Not yet. She had to confront Arjun. She had to know where she truly stood in his life.
