Daksh chuckled darkly. "I couldn’t see you naked, what a shame. But don’t worry, I’ve got cameras here. I’ll enjoy it later tonight." His smirk widened as he leaned closer, the threat clear in his eyes.
Payal’s face flushed with a mix of embarrassment and anger. She took a step back, clutching the hoodie tightly around herself. “You’re unbelievable, Daksh,” she snapped, trying to mask her discomfort with a tone of defiance.
Daksh’s smirk didn’t waver. “Just a reminder of who’s in control here. Now, let’s get back to the race before your brother starts looking for you.”
Payal nodded, trying to regain her composure. She walked out of the room, feeling his eyes on her back. The night air was cooler now, but the heat from the encounter lingered. As she returned to the track, she found her brother, who looked relieved to see her. She avoided Daksh’s gaze, trying to focus on the race and her brother’s victory.
Daksh watched her from a distance, a calculating look in his eyes. He knew how to play the game, and he was far from finished.
Sahil's eyes narrowed as he took in Payal's new outfit. The hoodie and track pants, while casual, were a stark contrast to the dress she had been wearing earlier. He could see the subtle changes in her demeanor, the way she seemed more guarded and less confident.
“What happened to your dress?” he asked, his tone sharp with concern and suspicion. “Did something happen?”
Payal hesitated, trying to come up with a convincing excuse. She felt her brother's protective nature closing in, but she knew she couldn't reveal the entire truth about Daksh. Instead, she decided to downplay the situation.
“Just needed a change,” she said, forcing a casual tone. “It was too hot out there.”
Sahil studied her for a moment longer, clearly unconvinced but willing to let it go for now. “Alright. Let’s focus on the race. I don’t want anything else to distract us.”
As they moved back to the track, Payal couldn't shake off the feeling that Sahil's suspicion lingered. She cast one last glance in Daksh's direction, who was watching her with an unreadable expression, before turning her attention to her brother and the ongoing race.
The race concluded with a dramatic finish as Sahil's friend and Rudra reached the finish line simultaneously, resulting in a draw. The crowd erupted in cheers and disappointment, their excitement palpable.
Sahil and Rudra, both looking equally intense and focused, stepped out of their cars, their expressions a mix of frustration and respect. Sahil's friend and Rudra exchanged a few words, acknowledging each other's skill with a nod.
Payal, still shaken by the events earlier, watched from a distance. Her thoughts were a whirl of Daksh's unsettling behavior and her brother's tense demeanor. She tried to focus on the outcome of the race, but her mind kept drifting back to the confrontation she had had with Daksh.
As the crowd began to disperse and the racers celebrated or commiserated, Sahil walked over to Payal, his face a mix of relief and frustration. He placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
“You okay?” he asked, his concern evident despite the chaotic end to the race.
Payal nodded, trying to muster a smile. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just a bit overwhelmed.”
Sahil gave her a reassuring squeeze before guiding her away from the track, ready to leave the arena and head home. The atmosphere was still buzzing with energy, but for Payal, the night’s events had left her with more questions than answers.
As Sahil guided Payal away from the race track, she glanced over her shoulder. Her eyes met Daksh's, who was standing with a smug smirk on his face. He gave her a wink, his expression a mix of amusement and possessiveness.
The gesture sent a shiver down Payal's spine. Despite the fact that she was surrounded by the excitement of the race and her brother’s company, Daksh's lingering gaze and confident demeanor left her feeling unsettled. Sahil noticed her distracted look and followed her gaze, his frown deepening as he saw Daksh.
Sahil’s protective instincts kicked in. He tightened his grip on Payal’s shoulder and guided her away from the scene, trying to shield her from further discomfort. The night’s events had been emotionally charged for Payal, and Sahil was determined to get her home safely, away from the unsettling presence of Daksh.
Sahil grumbled as he led Payal towards the parking lot.
"This boy!! All Singhania brothers are a pain in the ass! The big brother is a cold jerk, and the other two are egoistic as hell," he muttered, clearly frustrated.
Payal stayed quiet, her thoughts still lingering on Daksh's unsettling behavior and the way he had looked at her. Sahil’s words were a comforting echo of her own frustrations, even if they didn't completely ease her discomfort.
Sahil glanced at Payal, noticing her distracted expression.
"Are you even listening to me, Babu?" he asked, his tone a mix of concern and irritation.
Payal snapped out of her thoughts, giving him a small, apologetic smile.
"Sorry, Bhai. Just... a lot on my mind," she said quietly.
Sahil looked at her seriously, placing his hands firmly on her shoulders.
"Listen to me, stay away from Daksh. He’s not a good guy for you. The more you stay away, the better. Understand?"
Despite her nodding in agreement, Payal felt a pang of regret and confusion. She knew deep down that her feelings for Daksh were complicated, but she also understood her brother's concern and the need to keep her distance from someone as unpredictable as Daksh.
