Y/N was holding onto Hobi tightly, her small arms wrapped around him in a side hug, her lips pressed into a pout as she buried her face against his shoulder. Her eyes were locked on him with a mix of sadness and frustration.
Hobi tried to focus on packing, folding clothes and gathering the few items he would need for the academy, but her presence weighed on him. He could feel her emotions like a storm brewing behind him.
Telling Y/N about leaving for the academy had gone as badly as they had feared. It had started innocently enough, with her curious questions about the dragons and what the academy was like. But soon, curiosity gave way to frustration, then anger. And now... well, now, they didn't know what it was. Her emotions shifted too quickly to pin down.
She had cried, yelled, and pouted in turns, and now she was somewhere between sulking and refusing to let go of Hobi. Every time one of the boys had tried to explain more, she'd turned her back on them, arms crossed.
The dragons weren't helping either. They had grown restless under the tension, but instead of soothing her, they'd made things worse. Y/N glared at the little creatures like they were to blame for taking the boys away.
"Stop looking at me like that!" she snapped at Chimmy, Jimin's dragon, who had been hovering nearby. "It's your fault they're leaving!"
R.M. let out an annoyed huff, fluttering in the air. "It's not our fault you can't come with them," the dragon said, using his Dragon Tongue through Namjoon, with a slight edge in his tone. "Besides, the boys are going to be gone for days. You should stop crying and get your big girl pants on."
Y/N's glare intensified as she whipped around to Namjoon. Her eyes burned with fury, and Namjoon immediately began nodding furiously. "It's not me, it was R.M!" he said quickly, holding his hands up defensively.
For the first time, the boys saw a spark of something they hadn't expected in her-fire. She wasn't just sad. She was mad, and not the usual kind of anger. This was something fierce, something simmering deep inside her that even she hadn't fully realized yet.
"You think I *can't* handle this?" she said, her voice sharp, catching them all off guard. "I'm not just some little kid you can leave behind and forget about."
Hobi gently patted her arm, trying to soothe her. "Y/N, we're not forgetting about you. We're coming back, we promise. It's just something we have to do, for us and our dragons."
Jungkook, who had been standing quietly nearby, spoke up. "Yeah, we're still going to talk to you. We'll send letters or... whatever they have to contact us. It's not forever, just until we come back on vacation."
But Y/N was having none of it. "You say that now, but what if you get so busy with your dragons and your academy stuff that you forget about me? What if I'm just... left behind?"
There it was. The real fear behind the anger, the fire. The boys exchanged looks, understanding just how much this was hurting her.
Jin knelt down, meeting her eye to eye. "We could never forget about you, Y/N. You're our pink-haired little mate. You're part of us, no matter where we are."
The room was silent for a moment, the tension easing ever so slightly. Y/N's grip on Hobi loosened a little, though her pout remained firmly in place.
"Promise?" she whispered, her voice softer now, as if she didn't fully believe them yet.
Namjoon nodded, stepping closer. "We promise. And when we come back, we'll tell you everything about the academy, about our dragons, about the magic. You'll be part of it too."
