The dining hall buzzed with noise and laughter. The players were still cheering as Jungkook and BamBam lifted the trophy high, their grins wide and flushed with victory. Jimin and Taehyung sat together, smiling at each other, heads bent close, while Jackson and Mark led another round of chants for Draconyas's win.
Y/N sat beside her brother, one hand hovering just above his arm. A faint blue glow shimmered at her fingertips - the soft pulse of healing magic.
"Stop fussing, I'm fine," Hanbin grumbled, though his voice was gentle.
"You're not," Y/N murmured. The cut across his abdomen had already closed, but the bruising beneath still worried her. She knew B.I, his dragon, had refused to heal him this time - and that only made her touch linger longer. "You always say that right before you pass out."
Hanbin chuckled quietly, reaching over to ruffle her hair. "You worry too much, healer."
"Someone has to," she muttered, finally lowering her hand. The blue light faded.
Why do I see them before I even mean to? Why does my pulse change every time one of them moves or laughs or looks my way?
This is the bond... right?
Across the table, Yoongi and Jin sat in their usual spots, deep in quiet conversation. Jin's calm tone balanced Yoongi's low, clipped replies. Every so often, Yoongi's gaze flicked toward her - fleeting, unreadable - before he returned to what Jin was saying.
A few seats down, Namjoon was reading again, eyes tracing the same page he'd been stuck on for days. R.M. was coiled around his neck, tail flicking lazily, sparks glinting along his scales. She hadn't seen the other dragons all evening - probably resting after the chaos of the match.
Her eyes drifted to the far side of the hall. Hoseok was there, laughing with a girl she didn't recognize - her hair tied back, her smile too bright. Something about it made Y/N's jaw tighten before she could stop herself. Jungkook sat nearby, surrounded by a cluster of girls as well, all of them still buzzing with post-match energy.
Y/N told herself it wasn't jealousy. It was the bond - that restless, pulsing energy that kept her too aware of them, of all of them. The ache in her chest never fully faded; it sat there, constant, alive, like the echo of something she couldn't control.
She exhaled slowly, forcing her attention back to her plate. But her heart still refused to calm.
The noise of the hall swelled again as someone started another chant. Y/N pushed a bit of rice around her plate, pretending not to notice the way her brother's laughter faded into the background - pretending not to feel the pull.
She blinked and looked away quickly, but the bond pulsed, catching her off guard. It wasn't loud or painful this time - just there, like a heartbeat brushing against her own.
A chill ran down Y/N's legs, and a jolt of pleasure washed over her. The constant ache stopped as the chill ran down; her eyes closed - it felt so good.like being touched by something both alive and not.
The sensation deepened. Soft
The feather-like touch she felt on her legs was like someone kissing and slowly gliding up, biting, nibbling.brushing over her skin with careful precision, tracing patterns she couldn't see. The air rippled with energy, whispering against her legs and drawing her attention to every tiny movement. It slowly got a little higher from her legs as it gently moved up, higher and higher. It rubbed against her thighs as a slow gasp left her lips; she bit down on them. Then it stopped at her center. Then the touch was gone.
She blinked and looked dumbfounded, not knowing what had just happened. She blinked again, only to find Yoongi looking at her, his fingers wrapped around a shadow. But the bond pulsed, catching her off guard. It wasn't loud or painful this time - just there, like a heartbeat brushing against her.
