Y/N watched as the other students began to move, each of their watches glowing in different vibrant colors. Some displayed red arrows, others green, purple, or gold, all pointing in various directions. The students followed their glowing paths with confidence, heading toward their destinations without hesitation.
Y/N stared at her watch, frustration bubbling up as the screen remained blank. She tapped it once-nothing.
"Come on," she muttered, tapping again. Tap. Tap. Tap. Still, the stubborn blue display showed no signs of life.
She sighed, glancing around at the other students, all of whom seemed perfectly in sync with their watches.
Y/N's irritation had hit its peak moments earlier as she stood there, watching the last few students confidently stride off. Their watches glowed like they held all the secrets of the universe, each one pointing them toward their destinations with effortless precision. Meanwhile, hers remained stubbornly unresponsive. She glanced at a girl nearby, whose purple arrow guided her down a corridor.
Maybe if I follow her... Y/N thought, stepping forward hesitantly.
But just as she began to move, her watch buzzed and sprang to life. A cheerful, feminine robotic voice suddenly chimed in: "Hello, Y/N! Welcome to Drakonius Academy."
Y/N yelped, nearly stumbling over her own feet. "What the-?! You scared me!" she hissed, clutching her chest as her heart raced.
The watch, completely unbothered by her reaction, continued in its calm, robotic tone. "Your destination: Embar Hall. Follow the guided path."
Y/N blinked, staring at it in disbelief. "Oh, now you decide to work?" she muttered, shaking her head as she adjusted the strap. With a resigned sigh, she followed the glowing blue arrow, still side-eyeing the watch as if it might try to spook her again.
Y/N curiously started to move as the watch pointed the way, its blue arrow glowing faintly. She followed the direction it indicated, her footsteps light as she ventured deeper into the academy.
Y/N stood at the base of a grand staircase, noticing that the stairs weren't static but instead moved like a living entity. The steps shifted and rearranged themselves, constantly changing in position. As she watched, the stairs connected to one another, forming new paths that seemed to lead in different directions. The staircase was fluid, always adjusting, like something out of a dream.
Just then, a red dragon flew overhead, its wings beating with such force that the air around her seemed to hum. The dragon's long tail trailed behind, almost like a streak of flame, vanishing into the distance as it glided over the academy's massive grounds.
Each time Y/N took a step, the stairs adapted, creating a seamless flow beneath her feet. It felt as though the stairs were alive, guiding her to her destination. The entire space around her seemed to be in constant motion, as if the academy itself was shifting and alive.
Y/N moved her body slightly, tilting her head to look up at the ceiling, but what she saw only made her feel disoriented. Above her stretched an endless expanse, floors upon floors stacked one on top of the other, with thousands of staircases winding and connecting each level. The sight was dizzying, as if the entire building was an intricate web of staircases and levels that never seemed to end.
She shook her head, trying to clear the overwhelming image from her mind. The sight alone made her feel a little light-headed, as if the very structure of the academy was pulling her into its maze. Taking a deep breath, she focused on the steps beneath her feet, hoping to steady herself before she got lost in the dizzying architecture. The sheer scale of Dracarys Academy was starting to sink in, and Y/N couldn't help but wonder just how vast and magical this place truly was.
