As Headmaster Aldric Emberbane looked back at all of them, he extended his hand toward Tori, his gaze calm yet commanding.
"You're safe now," he murmured.
Tori hesitated for only a moment before reaching forward, her fingers barely brushing against his. A wave of exhaustion crashed over her, her body growing heavy as her mind slowly began to shut down. Her consciousness faded, the world around her dissolving into darkness.
With a quiet sigh, Aldric lifted his other hand, his fingers weaving through the air in an intricate pattern as he spoke the incantation.
"Viax Tempora."
A surge of golden light enveloped them, crackling with raw energy as ancient magic twisted through the space around them. In an instant, the oppressive atmosphere of the forest was gone, replaced by the warm, book-filled chamber of Aldric's office.
They had arrived.
Tori's body landed on the sofa with a soft thud, limbs heavy and unresponsive. Across the room, Y/N's world spun violently, the floor tilting beneath her as a wave of nausea crashed over her. Her stomach churned, a sickening swirl that tightened her throat.
"I... I'm going to be sick," she managed to choke out, both hands clamping over her mouth as her body threatened to revolt.
Before she could double over, a firm grip yanked her away from Jungkook, guiding her swiftly downward. Her knees hit a soft cushion as she was positioned to sit, her head bent low between her knees. The sudden movement made her head spin even more, but the firm touch grounded her, steadying her just enough.
A warm arm brushed against the back of her neck, the touch gentle and deliberate. Fingers moved slowly, stroking the tense area with a soothing rhythm. A subtle, comforting energy radiated from the touch, washing over her like a warm breeze. The nausea ebbed, the room gradually stabilizing as the spinning slowed.
The power behind the touch wasn't just calming; it resonated with her, its glow sinking into her skin and settling her nerves. Her breathing steadied, the tightness in her stomach loosening as the sick feeling faded away.
Y/N closed her eyes, leaning into the touch as the world finally stopped spinning.
As Y/N slowly lifted her head, the lingering dizziness eased, replaced by a curious warmth at the nape of her neck. Her gaze traveled upward, landing on the person whose touch had calmed the chaos within her.
It was Jin.
His hand rested gently against her neck, fingers brushing softly over her skin as a faint glow of magic pulsed from his touch, soothing the remnants of nausea. Warmth radiated from his palm, steady and comforting, a stark contrast to the coldness in his eyes.
Jin's face was impassive, his sharp features set in an unreadable mask. He didn't look at her. His gaze remained fixed on the far end of the room, his expression distant and detached, as if his thoughts were miles away. Yet, despite the icy chill in his eyes, his touch was impossibly gentle, his magic humming softly as it continued .cold indifference in his expression made her shiver. It was as if his body acted on instinct, offering comfort without any emotion behind it.
The contradiction left her speechless, her heart fluttering as she leaned unconsciously into his touch, seeking the warmth he offered even as his cold demeanor kept her at a distance.
Y/N blinked a few times, her vision clearing as she took in the room around her. The warm, book-filled chamber was spacious, the air tinged with the faint scent of old parchment and candle wax.
Near the center, Headmaster Aldric . Beside him was Professor Willow, her sharp eyes observing everything with quiet intensity. Another professor stood with them, a man Y/N didn't recognize, his posture rigid and formal.
