Living in the Philippines is great but not when it's scorching hot to the point where you wanted to go outside with a bucket of ice attached to your body.
"Ayaw ko na sa Pilipinas! Gusto ko na lang pumunta ng Baguio!" Sheena complained while using her notebook as fan.
"Ang init na nga Sheena tapos dadagdag pa yang kagagahan mo. Kailan pa nahiwalay yung Baguio sa Pilipinas?" Jhoana irritably remarked.
"Wala akong pake! Sana naman makaramdam si papa G at palamigin ng konti dito sa Manila." Sheena add back.
Jhoana couldn't agree more with her cousin. She's been getting a lot of ick because of the weather. If only she got the money, she'll fly to any country on earth where the temperature is not this hot.
"By the way, ready ka na ba sa first day mo sa SSU?" Jhoana asked her cousin. They're both on their way to the campus.
They're both in college. Sheena, taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, while Jhoana is taking up Bachelor of Arts Major in Broadcasting.
They're both in their third year but this is the first time where Sheena will attend the South Side University. Her parents will be out of the country due to some business. Since no one will take care of her, being Jhoana as her closest cousin, she suggested to come and live with her in Manila.
"I'm always ready. Baka pinalaki ako ni SpongeBob." She proudly stated which Jhoana didn't get the analogy.
"Huh?"
"I'm ready! I'm ready! Diba lagi niyang sinasabi yun? Bagal naman ng internet ng utak mo ate Jho."
"Eh kung ipukpok ko kaya sa'yo itong mini fan na hawak ko."
After their playful banter, they arrived at their school and headed straight to the admin office to get Sheena's class schedule.
South Side University is full of students came from a wealthy family. It is visible that hierarchy is a big impact among the students.
They treat with much respect those students who has more wealth than others. And as for the students under the scholarship program, well, they get all the criticism and hate.
Jhoana's parents are both lawyers. She's also the journalist club president and part of the debate team. She's famous among the students not just because of her brain but because of how cheerful and warm she is.
After Sheena got her schedule, they went straight to the auditorium where students gather for welcoming program.
"Jhoana! Here!" Jhoana hold Sheena's wrist and pull her towards the girl who just called her.
"Bebe, this is ate Aiah." Jhoana introduced.
Maraiah Queen Arceta. Her parents owns malls. She's the secretary of the student council but she prefers hanging out with Jhoana because of how intense the atmosphere when she's with her co-council.
"Sheena. Nice to meet you ate Aiah." Sheena extended her hand for a handshake which Aiah gladly took.
"Likewise. How's your first hour here in SSU?"
"Walang masyadong ganap. Boring kasama ni ate Jho, eh."
"Hoy, excuse me, ayaw mo nga akong bitiwan."
