A step closer to truth

Recap: Stephan was worried since Yuvin had not attended his call. On the other side, Yuvin and Agnes had a wonderful night. The parents felt relieved, understanding that there was nothing wrong with them.

In Stephan home,

Stephan paced anxiously in his room, his phone clutched tightly in his hand. He’d been calling Yuvin for hours with no response, and his thoughts churned with worry.

Aishu's words added fuel to his tension.

Yuvin was his best friend, his brother in everything but blood.

They had been through so much together, and Yuvin was not the type to ignore calls unless something serious had happened.

Last time, his call was ignored when Rachel broke up with him.

Stephan’s mind was a whirlwind of fear and anger. He couldn’t help but think, *What if something went wrong? Why hasn’t he responded?* The uncertainty gnawed at him, amplifying his restlessness.

Meanwhile,  in the guesthouse,

Stephan called Yuvin,

Aishu asked “Agnes? Are you okay?”

Agnes grabbed the phone, her brows furrowed in confusion.

“Aishu! What are you talking about? I’m fine! Why would Yuvin hurt me?” Agnes asked.

Relief flooded Aishu’s voice.

“Oh, thank God! I was so worried.”

Agnes, still baffled, asked, “But why are you with Stephan?”

There was silence on the other end.

Agnes looked at Yuvin, who was rubbing his face with a mix of guilt.

Her confusion deepened.

“Answer me, Aishu. What are you doing with Stephan?” she asked looking at Yuvin.

Yuvin reached for Agnes’s hand, squeezing it lightly.

“She is staying in Stephan home,” he whispered.

Agnes’s heart sank.

“What’s going on, Aishu? Why are you avoiding my question?”

Aishu hesitated, her words tumbling out in a rush.

“I... I’ll explain later. Are you okay? Did something happen to you?”

“What would happen to me? I’m fine,” Agnes replied, her voice tinged with bewilderment.

“But why are you with Stephan? How do you two even know each other?”

“Take care,” Aishu said hurriedly, avoiding her questions.

Yuvin continues the call with Stephan.

"Stephan, what happened?" Yuvin asked. 

"What’s wrong with you, idiot? You made me worried. I’ve been calling you since 7," Stephan shouted. 

Yuvin slightly closed his ears. 

"Sorry, I forgot to charge my mobile, and I slept heavily," Yuvin replied. 

"Do you think I’ll believe that?" Stephan asked. 

"Trust me, brother," Yuvin responded. 

"When will you leave?" Stephan asked. 

"In the next hour," Yuvin said.

" Come soon ", Stephan said and ended the call.

Agnes turned to Yuvin, her eyes narrowing. “Why is Aishu with Stephan? How do they know each other?”
