Welp I started watching Nominal's POV of Bannerfall and discovered the NominalDragon thing
...so I drew half dragon Bannerfall Nom. Cuz yes.
His armour and hair were incredibly difficult to do. I've not got his hairstyle locked in yet and I have never been good at drawing armour so I'm not surprised tbh lol
Anyway so this is a particular species of half human half dragon that I call Scaleshifters. As the name implies, they shapeshift into their scalier counterparts, actual dragons.
The particular sort of dragon that I think Nom would be is a Wyvern, like the monstrous nightmare or the three original dragons in Game of Thrones.
Now time for Brain to do what it does best and go "heck canon we're doing this now" so strap in folks it's time for the rant
Nom's wings aren't present when he's in his human form because they would be like another set of arms (they act like front arms in dragon form and have relatively dexterous claws on them), and it'd be awkward and anatomically impractical for them to be there. He still has a tail tho, and horns and claws. His eyes are still normal colored, but they do the thing that animal's eyes do when someone takes a picture sometimes and have that glowy thing. Except they don't have cameras so it's fine lol.
He may or may not have some scales hidden across his body but he'd deny it (dragon scales are HUGELY valuable, and he does not want to be bothered about them). His scales are also the same colors as his armour, so lots of blacks and dark greys/browns with hints of gold and red.
He usually stays human, but a draconic guy's gotta stretch his wings every once in a while, right? So to accomplish this, he goes and finds somewhere very far from the kingdoms so he doesn't start getting hunted down as a dragon.
Now I mean obviously it'd be hard to dismiss the horns and tail and claws and ears and eyes and all that, but having other humanoid creatures like Froguey, 4C, and Kitty and El (who are the only ones I can think of atm if there's more I'm sorry) makes it a little easier to pretend it's some sort of hybrid state rather than being in fact an actual dragon-adjacent creature. Sometimes he would go to a Mage and ask them if they could help hide his features, which usually varied in its success depending on the Mage.
I think the only people he would tell about his being a Scaleshifter would be 4C, Graecie, and Katie. Katie would obviously have known regardless from having grown up with him her whole life, but she promised that no matter what happened, she would never tell anyone about that. Idk if Katie would therefore be a Scaleshifter as well or if it'd just be Nom, like, he took after one parent in that way and she took after the other or something. Idk.
Also I probably have some lore related details wrong but I'm trying really hard to speedrun the vods so this is just what we cooked up until we have more information and it's all for vibes so I think it's fine.
Anyway whoever sat through this brain rant, major Ws and if anyone has alternative NominalDragon dragon species, feel free to share them!
