As Gang Orca shot out an unexpected attack, Chino pushed f/n out of the way causing them to narrowly dodge. Todoroki quickly turned his head to assess the situation.
"Not giving us a rest, huh?" Chino smirked as he prepared his mercury within the palm of his hand. He looked behind to see f/n squatting behind.
"Hey f/n, you doing okay? Want a ride?" Pestered Chino, crouching down offering her a piggyback ride.
Just who does this guy think he is? Some heart throb? She thought, disregarding his kind-hearted actions. "How do you know who I am? Don't think we're buddy-buddy cause you saved me."
"Ouch f/n, it's me! Ryōichi Chino! From the Kendo Club!" He affirmed, faking anguish. She stared intensely at him, as a drip of sweat ran down his jaw.
"Oh, in middle school."
"Yes!"
She couldn't lie when she took note of how different he had become. When she first met him, he was a scary kid with messy maroon hair, who couldn't even reach the top half of the chalkboard. Now, here he was trading his bed head for a slightly tousled look. His face is defined, with a strong jawline, high cheekbones, and a confident gaze in his dark eyes. His brows are thick and expressive, adding intensity to his look. His costume only added to his sharp style, often dressed in fitted clothing that subtly highlights his physique, giving him an athletic appearance.
"Are you sure you're the same Ryōichi Chino from Kendo Club?" She murmured, her harsh demeanor slowly changing into an awkward one. In her daze, Chino brought her onto his back, with her head resting on his shoulder.
"Ha, ha very funny of course I am." He smiled, gently tightening his grip and began running at a remarkable pace despite the added weight. "Hey, Todoroki was it? I hope you can catch up because we have to focus on preventing Gang Orca from causing anymore damage!"
Annoyed with this new guy's antics and how nonchalant f/n was with it, Todoroki smoothly responded, "Tch, don't worry about me." He followed up by shooting his ice and zooming off, a look of vexation staining his face.
"Jeez, look at him go." Chino awed, as the ice thawed in a blink of an eye. "Well, we can't be left behind now can we?" Looking below, f/n noticed molten mercury emitting around his feet. Then a harsh wind nipped at her face. As it turns out, Chino had formed skates made out of mercury to propel himself through the battlefield. Within seconds, the duo and Todoroki were neck-in-neck seeing who would be the first to strike Gang Orca.
"Look over there!" Alerted Ryōichi, a burst of flunkies flying through the sky. "That must be Shindo's quirk at use, we're almost there!"
"Great now put me down, if Gang Orca hits you, we'll both be out of commission." The now rejuvenated girl ordered. Getting herself together, she engaged her dragons and continued her trek towards the villain.
By the time she was able to haul herself over the debris, she witnessed Todoroki shoot out one of his ice walls whereas Chino ran over to collect the incapacitated Shindo. While the ice manipulator took care of the main villain, l/n made it her mission to take down any henchmen still gunning for any civilians.
Harnessing her sword, the first wave of attackers surged toward her, their quirks glowing and rippling in the air. Jets of water shot forward like coiled serpents, spiraling with deadly precision. She moved swiftly, her body twisting with fluid grace, releasing a dragon from her hands and with a flick of her wrist, she hurled it outward. The serpent exploded into a torrent, deflecting the incoming attacks and knocking her opponents off their feet.
Another attacker stepped forward, summoning twin water whips that lashed through the air. She ducked under one, her footwork light and precise, and countered by slamming her palm to the ground. A serpent erupted beneath her opponent, launching him skyward before dissipating into mist.
The mob didn't stop. More surged in, their quirks creating waves, slicing crescents of water, and towering spouts. She leaped, her hands weaving intricate motions that shaped her serpents around her into a shield. The shield rippled as it absorbed a barrage of high-pressure blasts, then transformed into a cloud of smoke that shattered her attackers.
As the arena fell silent, the remaining water cascaded down in a gentle rain, sparkling in the sunlight. She stood there soaking and her chest rising and falling with steady breaths.
In the distance, she saw Inasa descending down, sending even more of Gang Orca's men flying. Soon after the two made an attack, however the result was Todoroki's flames ascending and a huge fight between the two supposed 'heroes'.
Yuzuki peeked from behind f/n's torso as he watched the students in front of her.
Geez kid, how are those two supposed to save lives when they can't even fight one single enemy?
How the hell should I know? It doesn't concern me though, I don't care if they fail, as long as they don't drag me down.
YO BRAT, THE EARTHQUAKE KID, DO SOMETHING BEFORE HE TURNS INTO BARBEQUE!
"What are you talking about?" But before she knew what Yuzuki meant, right next to her was Shindo who was about to be incinerated because of Inasa and Todoroki's stupid quarrel. She couldn't release any one of her dragons yet since they were holding down any last remaining men. f/n clenched her fists. Her legs trembled, but not from fear. She darted forward, ignoring the shouts of protest behind her.
She reached Shindo and pushed him out of the way. While he remained unscathed, it came at a cost. The flames clenched around her legs, her uniform and skin melting into one. Her cries of pain ruptured throughout the arena. Those screams came to halt when another student knocked her unconscious with her quirk.
"I'll do my best to save her legs, but we can't move at all!" Another student muttered, sweat dripping down her face, as she realized that the villain wasn't going to drop his act.
"Don't worry I got this." Reassured Ryōichi, planting his hands down he made a cart out of his mercury and began pushing the two girls away from all the chaos.

When she awoke, she was surrounded by all her peers alongside Chino and Shindo. "What the hell?" She whispered, her throat drier than a desert.
"Oh my God! You're awake!" Cried Mina, engulfing her in a huge hug. "You saved Shindo from Todoroki's fire, but your legs were messed up badly. Thankfully there was a student who could save your legs and the nurse did the rest!"
"Your legs should be as good as new honey," affirmed the nurse, "But do be careful next time, you still are young, okay?"
"Yeah," Whispered Shindo, his body bowing into a perfect right angle, "I wanted to thank you for saving my life."
"No problem dude, I was just trying to pass, no big deal." She answered as if this were a normal conversation.
What the hell am I saying? It is a big ass deal, I just saved your life at the cost of mine? When did I start thinking like this?
Not even a half a year ago I'd ridiculed people who would throw their lives away for a stranger. Yet there I was, ready to throw my career away...
Maybe you're maturing kid. Yuzuki chuckled, taking pleasure at her demise.
Oh shut up, I hate how you can read my mind.
"Anyways, who failed?"
"Well in 1-A, both Todoroki and Bakugou failed the test." Momo answered, setting a cup of tea down for l/n to drink. "If I'm not mistaken, Inasa from Shiketsu also failed."
