After the death of Himeko, Sal Apocalypse jumped and caught Kiana Kaslana, who was now unconscious. After that, for the next six months, he, alongside Kiana, went under the radar; they travelled through Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, until finally reaching Arc City. During this period, the two of them went through innumerable hardships and multiple bouts with death, but even then, the two never left each other.
To those who had met them during this period Kiana and Sal were inseparable. If you tried to take one from the other, there would be a hefty price to pay. And then after their return to Theresa and others, it became even more evident how scared they were to be separated. It was on a subconscious level but whatever they had went through made them be by each other's side all the time. Now this drabble takes place after the Theatre of Domination.
Theresa: I need you to go on a mission.
Kiana: I don't mind, Theresa, but why so suddenly? (She was sceptical)
Theresa: There was a minor Honkai outbreak near Cape Town, though Anti-entropy team have handled it, there's still some traces left. Plus it would be a good opportunity for you to test your new powers.
Kiana, still not convinced, nodded.
Theresa: As for your partner, take Fu Hua. She would be able to help you.
Kiana: Wait a minute, Theresa... I understand why you would choose Fu Hua, but I think it's better if Sal and I go together. He too got his Hersscher powers and-
Theresa: I am aware Kiana but at the same time do you really think he is in a condition to be joining you.
Kiana begrudgingly made a fist and nodded.
Theresa: Don't worry, while you are gone, others will look after him.
Kiana: I know.
A week later in Cape Town:
Kiana: These Honkai beasts are not even a competition. I wish they all would vanish already.
Fu Hua: Patience, Kiana, more than a simple extermination, the reason we are here is to find the origins of this outbreak.
Kiana: I know, but I would rather get this sorted quickly. I just want to be back home.
Fu Hua sighed. She knew this was bound to happen. Theresa had pushed this mission on her and Kiana so that she could learn to operate without Sal's presence, but Fu Hua knew for a fact that it was the most cruel thing one could possibly do. In those long months when Kiana and Sal were surviving together, they were also the happiest and freest. To forcefully put them away was something she wasn't a big fan of. Though, as someone who understood Kiana, she also knew this was important for her.
Lunch time in Cape Town:
Fu Hua: You made lunch? (She was gazing at the neatly packed lunch box in front of her.)
Kiana: Yep (Nodding happily), I didn't have much time last night, but I was able to get some rice and chicken. It isn't anything great, but it has enough nutrition to keep us going for another few hours.
Fu Hua: Wow
As Fu Hua was about to start eating, she saw a third box being placed next to her. Confused, she gazed at Kiana, who was in a daze, her expression a mix of sadness yet acceptance as she gave out a lonely laugh.
Fu Hua: Kiana?
Kiana: I have been travelling with him for so long that I didn't even realise it had become second nature to me.
Fu Hua: It's ok. (She said in a whisper. Even Fu Hua knew that no word of comfort could help her friend right now.
Kiana: Ain't I such a dork sometimes? (There was a small tinge of tears that rolled down her cheek)
