Class 1

On a summer afternoon, when Kiana Kaslana was supposed to be annoying Sal, maybe kissing him or cuddling as well, she was stuck in a classroom on the west block of Schicksal High School, taking an extra class for Maths courses she failed that semester.

Kiana: Himeko!! I don't wanna be here. Let me go, please (She clasps her hand, begging her teacher)

Himeko: You should have thought about it when you were sleeping halfway through the ESTs. Also, it is sensei.

Kiana: Sensei, you meanie Hmph. I don't like you at all. Always trying to separate me and Sal. Just because you are single doesn't mean you will take out your frustration on your students.

Himeko gave her a death glare as she wore the most gentle smile: Kiana Chan...Despite your tardiness, I have been very lenient with you, but with this comment, I think I need to discipline you...

Kiana: (Gulps) Sensei, hehe, I...I didn't mean it. Yeah, what I was trying to say was that you know how you are so beautiful and yet men are blind-

That day, Kiana spent the entire day learning mathematical theorem, and when she returned home, she wasn't allowed to call or even text Sal.

Class 2:

Elysia: Kia-chan! How have you been?

Kiana: Ellie-Senpai! I have missed you! (The younger girl embraced the pink head as she cried her heart out) Himeko has been so heartless with me, you know, she won't let me meet Sal, and she got angry just because she is single!

Elysia: There there, Kia-chan, it is okay. You also need to consider her feelings. Finding a man her age is very tough, and her boyish charms make it even harder.

Kiana nodded but stopped as her face went pale.

Elysia: Kia-chan?

Kiana: Behind you...

Elysia: Behind? (She asked, confused as she turned behind. Her pink eyes saw what could be only referred to as a demon in the form of a human.)

Himeko: I see. You two prefer discussing your teacher's personal life behind her back when you could be studying. No wonder a fourth-year student who was supposed to graduate and a third-year student who should be in the fourth year is stuck with me taking extra courses to pass.

Kiana: Sensei, it was not you...We were discussing psychology! Yes, how do older women find it challenging to find partners?

Himeko: I see. So, do you mean to say I am an older woman fated to remain single?

Kiana: No, I didn't-

Elysia: Kia-chan stop! Sensei ain't some adult who would fall for a student's immaturity; she is just testing whether we are honest.

Kiana: ...

Elysia: Himeko-Sensei, yes, we discussed your love life. We were concerned that you haven't dated anyone for over four years. We would like to know if you plan to stay alone forever because it would be understandable if that were the case. Plus, with recent trends, you have better chances to stay alone and adopt a pet rather than finding a man, marrying him and settling down.

Kiana: ...

Himeko smiled as her fingers balled into a fist with veins popping over her forehead: Elsyia, I have heard you started dating that Jin boy.

Elysia: Why? Yes, I have.

Himeko: Good.

That day, Kiana and Elsyia were held back at school until eight and then driven back home by Himeko, who had personally cut off any contact between the girls and their significant others.

Kiana: Demon, she is a demon! I want to talk to Sal! (Crying as she hugs an equally cranky Elysia)

Elysia: Why would she do this? How can she be so heartless? We were trying to help her!

Meanwhile, Sal and Jin in Himeko's office:

Himeko: If you two as much as go near them, I will make sure you stay back in this high school until they pass all their courses. It could be a decade if they don't focus by their standards.

Sal: ...

Jin: ...

Himeko: I hope you understand how critical this is. We can't have them lose focus because of love. So, do you guys accept to not be a hindrance in their academic career?

Sal: Sure (Shrugs)

Jin: I don't mind (Shyly fidgeting; he has never been in a room with a teacher or another student before), but Ellie might. She hates to be apart.

Sal: You too?

Jin: (Shyly nods)

Sal: I understand, Senpai, but then again, isn't that what is best about them? A girl, like a sun, always makes your life bright.

Jin: I know, right...(Dreamy eyes), every second with her feels so bright.

Himeko in the corner smiling painfully.

Economics Class:

Kiana Kaslana had failed this course two years ago and decided not to finish it until Sal pointed it out. Kiana was very adamant about picking it up again until her final year. Still, after Sal's ample persuasion and bribery of sleeping over her home for a week, she accepted. Sal had completed this course in his first year, along with other students, and scored the highest. It was also a big deal because he could bag ninety marks from a professor who would not even give one mark if your answer wasn't exactly what she wanted.

Kiana sat silently on the first bench as Professor Asta walked in. Thirty other students had failed this course. All of them were Sal's batchmates, and they were a rowdy crowd. They didn't like studying, would bunk classes, shamelessly ask for free marks, and sometimes even outright pass everyone without teaching. And worst of all, they were the kind who would take help from others and then talk shit behind their back. All in all, they were the kind Kiana hated the most.

Girl 1: Dr. Asta! We are so happy to see you! We don't have to worry about Dr. Ruan Mei failing all of us.

Asta: There, Malana, just because it is me doesn't mean you will easily pass, though I will do my best.

Malana: But ma'am, you can't blame us; Dr Ruan Mei was brutal. If a few students fail, it is understandable, but thirty-five out of forty fail and can't be blamed upon the students.

Asta: I see, but tell me how the remaining five passed.

Malana: Ma'am, they barely scored forty. Sal was The only person who could get over eighty, and that person was always hanging around Dr Ruan Mei. She likes him, so he gets favoured a lot-

Kiana stood up and glared at the girl. Her blue eyes were piercing as she gazed at Malana intensely; her fingers were balled into fists as she tried to hold back her rage. Favored? Kiana wanted to punch the girl's face. He spent nights working hard to understand all the books Ruan Mei gave him. Heck, he went after her every time he didn't understand it. For you to dare say he was favoured!

Kiana: Ma'am, I apologise for interrupting you. I wondered who was better. Those who blame others? Or those who are jealous of other's success? (She had a sly grin as she gazed at Malana who was now embarrassed)

That day, she attacked Sal and asked for head pats to handle the situation maturely. He obliged but in the end it was not all she wanted from him, he left her home with artworks on his neck.
