On the morning of 14th March 2013, Sal Apocalypse woke up at his routine time of 06:00 A.M. He followed his morning regimen, drinking protein, eating walnuts and almonds, and then hitting the track for an early morning jog. There was a sense of similarity in everything he did; the same road, the same buildings on the way, and even the barking of dogs and singing of the birds all came together like they did every day.

Everything was the same, yet there was an ache in his heart as he thought, 'So this is it? This will be the last time?'

His muscles tensed, and his lips quivered as he opened the metal gate and entered the synthetic track. He took a deep breath and bowed in respect. It was his way of thanking the field for everything it had done for him.

As he started his run, his eyes gazed at the seven-foot-tall flex furling from the administration building, and it read: Graduation Ceremony 2013. His expression slowly turned into a bout of sadness as images of the last three years trickled in: the first training session, the first class, the first time he decided to bunk classes only to be followed by a hostile Susannah because she thought he was trying to overturn the academy, that time when Alvitr and Susannah came to his rescue when he had eaten poisoned food by some street vendor, that time when he saved Susannah from the Honkai beast and they became friends, even the lazy afternoon strolls which didn't make much sense back then started to feel like a precious memory now, all bundled within the construct of his flesh and blood. And now it was all ending, three years' worth of bonds and memories, all reaching their final destination.

A gentle eddy of morning wind brushed past him as he came to a halt. It carried a pristine giggle and a voice he had never heard before, yet it felt familiar.

"When a story is about to end, we'll always think of its beginning."

Was it his own mind playing tricks, or was it a well-wisher from afar? Sal didn't know, at least not back then. But thanks to the voice, he got the gentle push he needed to embrace today.

Filled with newfound excitement, he returned to his running.

Two hours later, drenched in sweat, Sal lay over the pink-synthetic surface of the track, his breath ragged from the workout as his sea-green eyes gazed at the sky above. Filled with grey clouds sailing by, not letting the sun reach him.

"Rain has chosen a great day to arrive." He smiled. "Can't wait until Scramble Brains sees it. She will be so annoyed."

Meanwhile, in room 232 of the Raegis Dorm, Susannah Manatt was sprinting in and out of her room as she tried to get everything in order. Her amber eyes frantically scanned her green-black-white uniform, trying to find any crease; meanwhile, Alvitr, forcefully awakened at four, yawned as she ironed her best friend's golden tie.

"You know, Susannah, worrying won't do you any good." She stated.

"I am not worried, Alvitr!" She replied, as her feet intertwined, and she lost balance, falling over the blue carpet on the floor.
