Bronya: Don't you think Susannah was acting strange right now?

Kiana: Nah (She replied with a yawn). She was the same.

Bronya: You think so.

Kiana: Yeah (She turned over with her head on the sandbag as she tried to grab some sleep before morning.)

Bronya: If you say so, Kiana (her voice wavered), though I hope it isn't what I think it is.

Kiana didn't hear that as she was already asleep.

Three days later:

The mission was over and both groups, one from Schicksal and the other from Anti-Entropy were now resting within the Hyperion lounge. Theresa had accepted to escort Susannah along with Rita and Alvitr to the Schiksal base at Lucerne. Though Welt ans rest of AE were very wary of Otto's intention they had decided to trust Theresa's decision.

As the giant airship cruised majestically through the Antarctic night sky, Susannah Manatt clad in a purple sweatshirt and black leggings, walked towards the upper deck. Over her head she wore a bear ear beanie with her fingers covered in black gloves; a gift from Sal on her fifteenth birthday.

As she took the final steps towards the exit gate B-1, her fingers gently grabbed the cold metallic railing. Her amber eyes sadly gazed outside, where stood a lone girl alone. She had a lean yet gentle build, her body was covered in a white-golden coat as her usually tied white-hair were now open as they gently fluttered with the cold night breeze.

"Miss Kiana," She greeted the older girl hesitantly. "I didn't expect to see you here."

"Oh Susannah." Kiana turned over and gave her surprised yet happy smile. "What a pleasant surprise!"

Without holding back Kiana gave the young girl a tight hug. Which Susannah too returned albeit a bit hesitantly.

Kiana: So what brings you here?

Susannah: Just needed some time to myself. Lately it seems I am just piled up with only work.

Kiana: Tell me about it! Ever since we returned that dork has been pestering me to write the report. Even when I told him how much I hate writing, he just won't listen to me.

Susannah giggled at the elder girl's antics. "That sounds just like him."

Kiana: Tell me about it. I just don't know how you dealt with him for five years, Susannah.

Susannah who was listening to her shrugged, while giving a bitter-sweet smile. "Sometimes I wonder too."

Kiana: Susannah?

"Miss Kiana, I have to apologise to you." She said with conviction. Her heart would no longer waver as she steeled her resolve.

"Apologise?"

"Yes." She replied with even more conviction. "During our joint mission I told Sal I loved him..." Susannah stopped as she felt the knots in her stomach tighten more than ever. Her heart was beating fast and if it wasn't for the droning sound of Hyperion, she was sure even Kiana could have heard it. "I... I mean in a romantic sense."

"I know." Kiana's sapphire blue eyes had a tinge of guilt as she gazed into Susannah's amber.

"Oh... Umm, I only told you because...you know...both of you are on the same team and everything..."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah."

"Then I guess you have completed your job."

She nodded.

After that, Kiana didn't utter a word and moved to gazing at the stars like she was before Susannah arrived. Confused by the sudden silence, the blonde-haired girl retreated, leaving the white-haired girl alone.

She wasn't sure if she had angered her or made her sad, but something told her that it was best to leave her alone.
