Don't Trust Women... Unless They Have a Halo?

On the planet Vitulia VI of the Jiskandar star system, there was a small town called Judpur. Located in the middle of the Gurgata Desert near the equator, this place experienced extreme temperatures day and night. Many people loved this weather, but Leo Kunis, a first-year college student, had different opinions. Clad in his golden-white hoodie, he sipped on his Soulglad Can before giving his best friend, Mika, a side glance.

"This makes no sense at all!" Leo shouted as he left the hallway, walking towards the exit. "I have told Djeeta multiple times that if she wants to talk to Reo, she should meet him directly. And yet she always tries to call me out and ask for his ID."

"Seems like the big brother woman curse continues for you." Mika gave him a sad smile.

"Tell me about it." Gritting his teeth, Leo crushed the can in his hand before kicking it away. His amber eyes were filled with rage and distrust as he tried to forget what had happened. "I don't understand why every woman must try to get close to me only to know my brother? Can't they go talk to him straight? You know what? I never trust a woman. All they ever want is to be close to Reo; they have no interest in me. Thus, I will never trust them ever."

"I don't think that's what you should do-"

"Nah, I am done. Leo Kunis, from now on, will never trust a woman in his life. He shall live as a hermit."

"Brother..." Mika shook his head.

Later that day in downtown:

"The infamous white-hair Space Pirates are to challenge the Celestial 5! Please support her! Captain Kiana Kaslana needs our support." A relatively young woman with scarlet hair, clad in a pirate uniform, stood in the middle of the old city plaza as she made her proclamation. Apparently, after Kiana's stunt in Sigonia IV and her saving the biggest slave factory of the universe, the Principality Galactica were enraged. They were the strongest ruling class of the known universe and had ruled ever since the old Aeonic order fell 40,000 years ago.

"Can you stop doing that, Nia?" Leo walked towards her with a scowl. "I know how much you idolize the Captain, but Reo won't be happy if he saw you doing this."

"But big brother, I have to make the citizens aware." She tried to reason. "If we don't-"

"Sure, sure." He sighed before taking away her placard. "Times have changed, Nia; you can do something similar in the universal net, so don't do it here."

Nia opened her mouth to say something but stopped when a lady clad in a charcoal-grey trench coat bumped into Leo.

"I am so sorry..." The woman apologized in a soft tone. Her lilac eyes shone childishly as she gazed at a baffled Leo.

"Are you being serious!" He pulled her away and shook his head in defiance. "See, lady, you are taking things too far now. If you wanted to talk to my brother so bad, why won't you just go and-""Shhh" The lady leaned towards him and pushed her fingers over his lips. Her silver-lilac strand escaped the cap, making his eyes widen. He has never met this person before. "Don't shout. If you want my autograph, I can give it to you later, but right now, I am being followed by bad guys-"

"Autograph? Is that some new trick to get me to sell information?" He removed her finger and glared at her.

"Wait..." The girl removed her cap, revealing her feathered ear and a golden halo over her silver-lavender hair. "You don't recognize me?"

"Did we go to the same school?"

"Umm... No." She shook her head.

"Were you born in the same hospital as me? "

"No."

"Did you see me at the freshman party?"

"No."

"Hence, we don't know each other. You are a complete stranger to me."

The girl stood there, her lips pressed as she blinked multiple times.

"You seriously don't know me?" She asked again in a daze.

"Nope."

"Wow."

"Big brother..." Nia, who was watching this exchange, tried to intervene.

"Not now, Nia." He defiantly replied. "This is some new tactic to get close to Reo. I am not letting this person trick me."

Hearing him, the lady broke into a silent cacophony of giggles. It sounded like notes of a musical instrument arranged in enigmatic harmony.

"This is amazing. Sunday was right..." She wiped tears from her eyes. "Jiskandar Star system is really boonies."

"Now you are insulting my home."

"Hey, golden-eyed stranger." The lady gave him a smile, her green eyes brimming with joy. "I am Robin, and I am being followed by some really bad people. Can I request that you protect me for a day?"

"I said this before; I will say it again. I am not letting you trick me, I have had-"Before Leo could have finished, Robin hurriedly pushed him inside an alleyway adjacent to them. His back was pressed against the wall as Robin's arm made it impossible for him to break free. All and all, he was kabedoned by a woman he had just met.

"Hey-"

"Don't speak," Robin replied softly yet authoritatively. "If they see us, it's over."Confused, Leo turned his gaze towards the square where a group of reporters with big and obnoxious cameras stood in a mob, trying to look for their next prey.
"They are the bad guys?" He asked in a whisper, still sceptical of this entire affair. She gave a gentle nod as she grabbed his wrist.

"I might not look the part," She gave him a wink and dragged him towards the other side. "But I am a galaxy-wide famous songstress."

Still confused and sceptical, Leo allowed himself to be swept off his feet by a stranger. His heart was beating fast as he navigated through the maze-like alleyways of the old city. Her hair, now free, flowed backwards, hitting his face as he could smell strawberries. As her grip on his wrist tightened, little did he know this impromptu escapade with a galaxy-famous star would turn into the adventure of a lifetime.

"By the way, I never got your name, Amber Eyes."

"You are asking now."

"Better late than never." She flashed a grin.

"Kunis, Leo Kunis."

"What a beautiful name. I love it."

"Huh?"

"So Leo, please take this damsel in distress songstress to the Nenagarh Fort. This songstress really wanna see it."

"As long as you behave, sure."

"Yippee."

Hence, the journey of two lost birds finding each other started.
