"Your heart skipped a beat in the lounge, didn't it?" Susannah grinned as she threw another lump of snowball at the object of her affection.

"Hey! That's unfair." Sal was taken aback by her sudden remark.

"Hehe" She laughed triumphantly at her victory. "Weren't you already aware to win a person must try everything."

"What has Rita been teaching you?" He grumbled as he stood up.

"But it did skip a beat, didn't it?" She asked with the cutest smile.

Sal's eyes widened, as he could feel his heart beat rise.

"Nope..." He lied.

"Liar-pfttt" She laughed again as she skipped around him. "I can already see you blushing. Haha I like it, keep feeling this way. And then fall for me okay."

Sal sighed as he gazed at his childhood friend. "Are you sure you are okay with this?"

Susannah stopped dead in her tracks, her back facing him. "With what?" She asked with a tremble.

Sal caught his breath before deeply exhaling. "Yeah..."

"Uh-huh." She hummed. "I am."

"But-" Sal wanted to argue he was cut off as Susannah turned around and covered his mouth with her hands.

"Like I said before, I am alright with it." Her voice was desperate. "That's why you don't have to worry. As long as you look at me as the girl who loves you, it's fine. I don't need an answer."

Sal took a deep breath and gently removed her arms. His eyes were kind, just like the day she had met him.

"Susannah I-" He stopped as a flock of penguins suddenly invaded their space.

"Sal!" Forgetting their conversation, she quickly ran towards the flightless bird. "Come quick, I want to hold them."

"Hey, don't run away like that! And also don't try to hold them, what if they attack you?"

"Idiot, they are not Honkai Beasts."

"Scramble Brains just because they aren't, it doesn't mean they can't bite."

"Well if that happens." She turned around and gave him a wide smile. "Then make sure you protect me okay?"
