"Kiana!" Sal called her out as his legs shook in pain; his arms felt heavier than usual. "Would you stop, please!"

The gentle sea breeze from moments ago was now picking up pace as the clear blue skies had clouds of grey contrast sail in. It wasn't a lot, but I'm still foreboding what would come.

"Kiana!" He called out again to the faint silhouette of the white head a few hundred metres ahead of him. "Please stop!"

"I don't want to!" She replied, her voice still shaky, but there was aggression. "I told you right; I am sorry to disturb both of you! I didn't mean to butt in!"

"Oh, come on!" He shouted back as he decreased his pace; the extensive morning training and helping logistics had done a number on his body. "You aren't good at lying!"

"I am not!" She replied back, Sal could see she had stopped. Her hairband had broken and was now open. "I am serious! Go back to her!"

Sal took deep breaths as he dragged his body slowly towards her. Despite the cold eddies kissing his skin, he could feel the heat radiate from the tarmac below. It wasn't painful, but for some reason, every step made him feel a warmth he didn't want to give up.

"Why won't you listen to me?!" She clenched her fists and gave him a glare. "I am very serious this time!"

"I know." He smiled back. "I know."

"Then just turn around, go back."

"And why should I do that?" He stopped a few inches from her.

"Because because..." She tried to form words but couldn't; her expression was that of conflict as she tried to find an excuse.

"Did you eavesdrop Kiana?"

"I did no such thing."
"I see," He gave her a sly smile. "If so, why would you ask me to go back to her."

"I hate you." She stomped her feet and closed her eyes, using her arm to hide it. "Fine, I did okay. I did. And that is why just go back, listen to her... It is fine."

"I told you before, didn't I," Sal closed their distance and gently held her arm. "I am not going anywhere, Kiana, until you honestly want me to go away."

"Why do you always have to say that?" She was crying now. "Why?"

"We are friends, aren't we?" He gave her a smile and slowly brought her into his embrace. "And

I... I don't want to lose you ever."

"I am sorry..." Kiana tried to apologize from his embrace. "I... I also don't want to. I-"

Sal gently rubbed her back, placing his head over her shoulder. "Shhh...breathe."

"You don't understand!" She suddenly pushed him away with aggression. The understanding that came before suddenly dissipated. "You never do, Sal! Not me or others! You stick by me when I ask you not to! You keep being a bother every time! Even during the Philippines! Why won't you just leave! You said right; if I ask you to, you will, and then I am. Right now, just go away. It's not like anything good will happen by staying by my side-"

"You don't get to decide that!" Sal was now angry; until now, he was the understanding one, but now. "Alright! You don't get to decide if sticking by you will bring me no good."

"Oh really?" Kiana pushed a finger over his face accusingly. "Then tell me how every person in this world hates me for being the Hersscher of Void, not a misfortune! How are people literally trying to poison my food sometimes, not misfortune?! Do you even know the kind of comments they make about you behind your back! I have always only brought misfortune to myself and those-"
